Comments: Decider No More

I say let Joementum and McCain continue to kiss Bush's butt. The closer the Reps keep to Bush, the more the country will hate them come Nov '08.

Here's how you turn around a stupid right-wing meme. Check out the Edwards debate video!

Lest we forget, congress did have the say. They've had the say all along.

Our problem is that their "say" was to draft and pass the Iraq War Resolution with many Democrats voting alongside Mitch & his evil pals. Even as the minority party, they haven't shown anywhere near as much "resolve" trying to put the brakes on the war as the Republicans have in pouring gas on the fire. When push came to shove, Republicans filibustered. Democrats were steadfast in their unwillingness to throw a wrench into the war machine, allegedly out of fear of being labeled 'anti-patriotic' or being crucified by the media.

Those things may well have happened had they shown a spine and helped stopped any of the numerous war/Pentagon funding bills OVER THE LAST 4+ YEARS. Hell, those things both happened anyway. Ignoring the rhetoric and examining the actions, it is difficult to support an argument that Democrats have demonstrated any tangible interest in stopping this war.

So are these the same people that give Congress a 14% approval while the president gets a 34? Over at Philly.com, you remember Philly, Rendell ran that city so well. They're saying "Reid's posturing gets us nowhere".

Seems I've heard the phrase "worst president ever" here before. How soon, when do we get to the "worst Congress ever"? The people fired many Republicans last year with Congress at 23%. The 110th opened up with a 39 approval in January. Above the president at the time. Now they're far below the president. The peoples had such good hope on progress on their business. Nothings been done yet Yeah, we've had votes for this or that, still nothings getting done.

Day one; Put new laws in to "break the link between lobbyist and legislation. Where are they?

Day two; Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Where are these?

Cut the interest rate on student loans in half. Where's this one?

Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients. What happen here? On a side note, Canadian pharmacies are hurting for the loss of all American business from the bill signed by President Bush already.

Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds _ "I hope with a veto-proof majority," Pelosi added in an Associated Press.

All the days after that: "Pay as you go," meaning no increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority.

Where's the beef Democrats? Seems the ONLY thing Congress talks about is Iraq. Oh, that reminds me. My kids thank you for the minimum wage increase. That was another of her priorities. What a price, another blank check to our president's war effort. My kids really appreciate the increase. Going to school without pocket change can be such a drag.

Now to address running the government by consensus. What a crock to use polls or polling data for the direction of our government. Minority rights would be gone then. Whatever the majority wants goes no matter what. Where would the JFK's go to be heard? No need for this republic to exist any more...is that your desire? Sounds like it. Supporting union votes in open environments...no more secret ballots. Allow the bosses to see who isn't agreeing with what they want a lean on them a little. Let's cut down on oversight of union activity. That's another good one. 775 convictions in the last six years. 70 million dollars recovered for the union coffers by this oversight department so lets cut their funding.

"A brigade a month" HRC. Joe Biden, one year to get them out minimum! March, April, May of next year is out of the question. Forget about anything getting done till the next swearing in January. Sound bite all you want. It's not realistic. 7 of 6 surely must be able to confirm this. Units do not move THAT fast.

CNN had an overwhelming youtube response on healthcare. Seems that's what the people want. Any attention would be appreciated Mr. Congressman and woman? Where's the discussion? Not a peep in DC, too busy talking Iraq. All these plans from these candidates and not a peep on the floor. Where's the beef? Let's lean towards a single payer and not universal coverage.

Peter, the House has done all those things, but the GOP obstructionists in the Senate have been the roadblock. Sorry to blow up your right wing meme.

Among all Americans, 25% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 71% disapprove. This should give the timid Dems the tire iron they need to smash Bush's Iraq policy.

good news, steve, thanks for the heads up

Good Lord, 66% of BushAmericans actually understand that the constitution places the decision to end a military occupation in Congress's hands and not the Deciderer-in-Chief's!? WTF??

I'm stunned.

Too bad the Congress doesn't understand it.

Boy, the orders to 101st Keyboard Klown Brigaders like the disgusting peter to ride the "What've they done" meme with Congress must be mandatory, with threats of demotion to piss bucket cleaner if they aren't carried out on the assigned websites.

As though peter the GOoPer stooge wants ANY of the Dem proposals on the various topics he mentions enacted. As though Repubs have ANYTHING sensible to offer in these areas. That "Do Nothing" tag the failed GOoPer Congress fully earned has really blown the conservative Repub mind.

GOoPer stooges like peter are so intellectually dishonest and mentally deranged I wonder if they can tell their ass from their mouth anymore?

"GOoPer stooges like peter are so intellectually dishonest and mentally deranged I wonder if they can tell their ass from their mouth anymore?"

...As demonstrated recently, a colonoscope must be used to determine which is which.
