Everyone with an ounce of sense was aware that Abu Gonzales would fail miserably as attorney general---his whole life and "career" has been one of butt-licking George Bush, to the lowest and most obsequious degree possible.
How does such a fawning, cowering, lick-spittle live with himself? Abu now has entered American history as the most disgraceful, pathetic excuse for an AG in history. It's got to be some form of mental illness for Abu to "carry on" in such circumstances.
As for the Repubs, don't forget that part of Abu's lawbreaking was to ensure that US attorneys wouldn't look too deep into GOoPer corruption, be it within the WH or Congress. The absolute last thing Repubs want is a REAL attorney general. They understand why Abu HAS to be the last servile bootlicker to turn out the lights when Buschco leaves town, that he is "irreplaceable"--- thus, if Abu's impeachment ever arose (ha-ha) they would vote en masse to "save" him.
