Ailes? Hell, Rupert is the one pulling those strings. He's promoting Hillary on Fox so she can lose in the general election. The right sees her as the candidate they can beat, handily and easily. They don't view her as the candidate to beat, but the one they can defeat, no problem. As for Rudy, he's been on Rupert's payroll one way or the other for years. It's another corporately owned candidate, just like Bush-Cheney.
Posted by Brian Bell at August 2, 2007 08:56 AMRudy? That's pretty well a death sentence for the GOP, regardless of who the Dem candidate is.
Posted by tempus at August 2, 2007 08:57 AMLet's see how many Antiwar Dems get behind "I wont apologize for my vote to authorize the war" Hillary Clinton. A Hillary Clinton who Obama calls "Bush-Cheney lite". I really like letting Republicans pick the opposition candidate. Takes the pressure off Democrats that always seem to be being "dupped" as Schumer tells it so they might be able to decide what to have for lunch.
I'm going to enjoy seeing President Bush pass over the presidency to President Giuliani at 12:01 on January 20th, 2009. To see Chief Justice John Roberts sware him in. And to see Americans celebrating Rudi's special day.
Posted by peter at August 2, 2007 09:27 AMDrag queen Ru-Dee Guiliani is a pip, alright.
Married his cousin, then had an adulterous affair while married to his second wife and he's estranged from his kids, who loathe their father.
Hey, maybe this baggage makes him perfect for FOX Noise and for the GOP?
But is he perfect for Murika? Methinks, no!

Posted by peter at August 2, 2007 09:55 AMRudy will be the guy. He is a perfect new Bush. Here's what will happen...the real conservatives will overlook his "liberal ways" because power is more important to them. He'll launch vicious attacks on Hillary, but we'll never see his finger on the trigger. The Media will do it for him. The rest of us will wait around for the inevitable melt-down that will doom him.....just like we waited on Bush to flip out. But it won't come, just like it didn't with Bush. We'll be standing around in 2009 asking ourselves why so many people voted for such a jerk and wondering why they hate Hillary so much. And blaming the GOP Media for another four/eight years of Rudy/Rove, instead of asking ourselves why we allowed a person hated by so many people and distrusted by many more, to be nominated. The conventions are a long way off, but unless something unexpected happens, it will be Rudy vs. Hillary. I feel queasy already.
Posted by T2 at August 2, 2007 10:10 AMTake some pepto and stand up straight. Take it like a man, it wont be that bad. You might even enjoy it.
Posted by peter at August 2, 2007 10:32 AMHe is a perfect new Bush.
Ru-Dee is worse than Bush.
Posted by Christopher at August 2, 2007 11:01 AMThat is simply not possible, although the real bad guy is Cheney. Bush is far too stupid to matter.
