Comments: Hillary's Unfavorables Dropping, Lead In Polls Rising; First Laddie Bill?

I'm sure Bill could vet interns.

I see no role for Bill, or for her. This is supposed to be a democracy, not reign by nobel blood and marriage lines.

I've had it with Bushes and Clintons.

I was going to say "oral examiner", but Seven's idea is so much more exquisitely sublime.

Now for the real subject - Sen . Clinton's polling is interesting. I've always wondered how one goes about turning an unfavorable rating around, particularly since the unfavorables typically are not driven by policy positions, but usually on subjective assesments on shakily quantifiable attributes. How 'honest' are they? 'trustworthy?' 'moral?' And if the unfavorable opinion is actually based on policy and legislation, the subjective opinion may be even harder to shift without amends.

She opened a slight and somewhat deceptive lead considering the margin of error in this week's Iowa poll. But there's still 5 months before the caucus.

the most likely role for Bill will be as the official "reason she lost".

Has the Hillary claque no sense of political reality? That tiny number of people who can change their votes are not going to vote for Hillary Clinton: they'd even vote for Cheney before her. If the Democratic Party wants to win H Clinton will not be on the ballot!

I'd go for foreign secretary, but he would go for any secretary...

It holds true that Bill continues to overshadow Hillary for both good and bad reasons. She continues to refer to the 90's and the "last Clinton administration" in her speeches. When she does this, I wonder, "Must she forget that it involved the impeachment process that absorbed more than a year of his second term in office?" Still, the star power and the real confidence is in Bill, not Hillary, and if people vote Hillary they are clearly voting Bill & Hillary. It's the duo, it's not her. Let's get honest. She has done alot of great things. But, she has yet to stand on her own merit. Even Hillary realizes this, injecting her husband's experience as a centerpiece of her campaign every chance she gets. People perceive her as the most experienced candidate with the best background for the office because of Bill. Not because of Hillary's level of experience. Bill's role now is to be the platform of Hillary's campaign. If she is elected he will continue to be behind every poll that demonstrates confidence in her as a leader. She could not be a serious candidate for the office without him, and she will not be taken seriously once elected without him standing behind her. That is why she stayed with him through the BS. She knew all along she needed ole' Bill in her back pocket. She knew long ago that one day she would run for presidency. Can't wait to see what happens.
