Comments: Bush Still Chasing Osama Six Years Later

Bush has clearly been trying to AVOID capturing Bin Laden since shortly after 9/11. In fact, I suspect there is a gentleman's agreement with Musharraf that the US will not make a serious effor to do so.
Remember, the administration turned down an offer from the Taliban to hand over Bin Laden after 9/11.

So, if what he says is true, what's stopped him so far? Has there been NO actionable intelligence? Really? In six years? What does that say about our intelligence capabilities? Shouldn't he have fixed that?

Or is this "we will get the job done" a new policy?

Or is it that he's once again mouthing nonsense syllables that make him feel good?

The Pentagon admitted today that it has lost track of 190,000 AK-47s they supplied to the Iraqi police and army. How in Gawd's name do you lose 190,000 assault rifles? And in an almost Keystone Kops manner, the Pentagon said that some of them may be used by the "insurgents". These people are completely incompetent.

Are we sure that PDB wasn't just a CYA thing -- better to look incompetent than complicit.
