Any ideas. They always seem to be reactionary instead of proactive on these important issues. The mainstream media will happily oblige to the republican messaging on this especially if there is no other messaging being presented (I know even when there is an alternative message it often gets muted by them anyway) but still...it's no excuse for the Democrats who are in desperate need of leadership on a wide variety of issues not just this one.
