Ask him if he would consider being a Vice Presidential candidate on Hillary's ticket.
Posted by john fan at August 8, 2007 08:30 PMMy question for Senator Edwards: If you contracted a disease that could affect your judgement, would you tell us?
CNN is reporting that the chimp had Lyme disease last August, but is OK now.
Given some of the late stage possible symptoms, I’m not so sure!
Neuropsychiatric:
panic attacks, anxiety
depression
short-term memory loss
sleep disturbance
hallucinations
depersonalization
neurocognitive impairment (brain fog)
psychosis (rare) including diagnosis of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder[74][75]
A deer tick or Lone Star tick may have bitten him in the ass when he was bending over clearing brush with Gannon.
I guess the White House didn’t think that a disease contracted by our leedur that could produce these symtoms was worth mentioning.
Excuse to invade Iran: "I had Lyme Disease....well,I got betta."
Posted by TIKI AL at August 8, 2007 09:35 PM"CNN is reporting that the chimp had Lyme disease last August, but is OK now."
TIKI AL, HAD lyme disease??? I didn't know it was curable. Lyme disease is a chronic disease and from what I understand, not curable.
Chronic joint inflammation (Lyme arthritis),
Neurological symptoms, such as facial palsy and neuropathy
Cognitive defects, such as impaired memory
Sometimes, heart rhythm irregularities
Late-stage symptoms may include:
Memory loss
Difficulty concentrating
Changes in mood or sleep habits
TIKI,
I think Bushco had all of those symptoms BEFORE he contracted Lyme Disease.
He's mentally ill and a sociopath. Let's not blame the poor tick.

Tim Johnson is on the mend and plans on returning to his seat in September when Congress comes back from vacation.
This is a small piece of good news, seeing as his absence had left a dead heat number of senators on both sides.
Hopefully his presence will make a small difference when it comes to off-setting the DINO Dems like California's DiFi who trusts Bush and Gonzo on FISA.
Posted by Christopher at August 9, 2007 03:08 AMBush getting Lyme disease just before the 06 election is not something the White House wanted to share. I'm surprised we are hearing about it at all unless it was leaked.
And next they will be telling us Cheney had mad cow when he bagged the lawyer.
Posted by TIKI AL at August 9, 2007 03:50 AMI'm certain there is much about Bush's "health," mental and physical, his handlers don't want us to know. Just as Gonzo worked to bury Bush's drunk driving arrests, Bush's medical history is off-limits too.
You don't spend decades using and abusing booze and drugs and not have very real consequences to show for it.
There have long been rumors that Bush is now heavily medicated for depression and bouts with rage.
Posted by Christopher at August 9, 2007 03:55 AMFrom what I've heard, any anti-rage meds he's taking aren't working.
Posted by Sharon at August 9, 2007 05:48 AMTruth be known, those around him know he is mentally and emotionally unstable. Cheney has told them to keep George on a short leash.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 05:55 AMThe best anti-rage meds for Bush come in the form of another bottle: beer in quantities of 2 or 3 dozen per binge.
Posted by Christopher at August 9, 2007 05:56 AMTIKI AL, you can be it was leaked.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 05:57 AMWould you like to ask John Edwards a question?
Can I ask him about his dead son?
(Oh, I just know I'm gonna get beat on for that one.)
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 07:29 AMGo Edwards!
Posted by parallax at August 9, 2007 07:30 AMMasked Vigilante - you are one mean sob. Why would you even post something that cruel? Did you think that was clever or funny? It wasn't, it was just crass and cruel.
Posted by allansfca at August 9, 2007 07:36 AM(Oh, I just know I'm gonna get beat on for that one.)
Then why in the fuck did you post it?
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 08:16 AMCan I ask him about his dead son?
Yeah, why don't you go to a meetup and ask him. Asshole.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 9, 2007 08:17 AMYeah prick, go ask him. In fact, ask Elizabeth the same question also.
Folks, this is the mentality we are dealing with. No morals, no conscious, no ethics, and absolutely no integrity. In other words, deprived.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 08:22 AMMasked Vigilante, come on big shot. I and others here want to know what you would ask him about his dead son. Come on tell us. We are waiting.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 08:26 AMIt was a reference to what Coultergeist said, which I think was a reference to a really creepy story John Kerry told about Edwards re-telling Kerry the exact same story about his son's coffin, with the exact same gestures, etc. It creeped Kerry out, Coultergeist took advantage of it, and I took advantage of it to make an early, pre-coffee, insensitive joke.
I apologize; let's all go on with our day.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 08:46 AMJust a reminder that the "dead son" thing is NOT my joke, as most of you assumed.
From Ann Coulter herself:
"At least when Gephardt exploits a family tragedy, he doesn't expect praise for not exploiting a family tragedy. John Edwards injects his son's fatal car accident into his campaign by demanding that everyone notice how he refuses to inject his son's fatal car accident into his campaign.
Edwards has talked about his son's death in a 1996 car accident on "Good Morning America," in dozens of profiles and in his new book. ("It was and is the most important fact of my life.") His 1998 Senate campaign ads featured film footage of Edwards at a learning lab he founded in honor of his son, titled "The Wade Edwards Learning Lab." He wears his son's Outward Bound pin on his suit lapel. He was going to wear it on his sleeve, until someone suggested that might be a little too "on the nose."
If you want points for not using your son's death politically, don't you have to take down all those "Ask me about my son's death in a horrific car accident" bumper stickers? Edwards is like a politician who keeps announcing that he will not use his opponent's criminal record for partisan political advantage. I absolutely refuse to mention the name of my dearly beloved and recently departed son killed horribly in a car accident, which affected me deeply, to score cheap political points.
I wouldn't want John Edwards to be president, but I think even Karl Rove would be willing to stipulate that the death of a son is a terrible thing."
Of course all of us are aware of Coulter's antics. Hello! We post on a political site! Your error is the very obvious attempt to get more attention by doing a "gotcha" and passing it off as an honest mistake. You might want to think before you post next time. Preview helps.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 9, 2007 09:13 AMCoyote, I could give two shits about attention from anonymous board posters. But, getting back to my point, am I the only one creeped out by this???
http://letters.salon.com/news/feature/2007/07/17/elizabeth_edwards/view/index12.html?show=all
**Let me also quote from campaign consultant Bob Shrum's book "No Excuses":
"(Kerry) was even queasier about Edwards after they met. Edwards had told Kerry he was going to share a story with him that he'd never told anyone else — that after his son Wade had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home, laid there and hugged his body, and promised that he'd do all he could to make life better for people, to live up to Wade's ideals of service. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the same exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two before — and with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. Kerry said he found it chilling, and he decided he couldn't pick Edwards unless he met with him again."
Apparently every time Edwards began a story about his dead son with "I've never told anyone this before," everyone on the campaign could lip-sync the story with him.
Thus the joke. Or maybe you were all equally aware of that as well.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 09:50 AMI could give two shits about attention from anonymous board posters.
And yet you continue to push a story from the guy who clearly has a grudge against Edwards, and is trying to sell books. If Hillary's your candidate, you certainly do her no favors by running around spreading disgusting rumors about other candidates and being an ass. Just makes you, and by extension, Hillary, crass and creepy.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 9, 2007 10:23 AMDoes that mean the story is false?
I also just wanted to point something else out. Judith said:
Folks, this is the mentality we are dealing with. No morals, no conscious, no ethics, and absolutely no integrity. In other words, deprived.
That's what the enemy is like, huh? Does it smell anything like this?
you are one mean sob
Asshole.
prick
ass
crass
creepy
cruel
And here I thought this was the party of compassion and intelligence. You're just as bad as they are. Especially you, Judith.
Prove to me that the Edwards story is false. Until that day, I find the man truly disturbing.
Oh, and if you think this is my last post, you're wrong. The Masked Vigilante is here to stay.
XOXOXO
Prove to me that the Edwards story is false.
Prove it's true, asshole.

That's some real thin ice you're treading on, motherfucker.
Real thin. I reckon John Edwards might kick your ass if you were in fact to ask him about his dead son.
Maybe you should ask Biden about his dead wife and daughter or ask Obama about his dead mother while you're at it. I'm guessing you'd be swallowing more that a few teeth.
Best keep that mask on, bitch.
Posted by God Of War at August 9, 2007 10:52 AMProve it's true, asshole.
The burden of proof is not on me, sir. He's campaigning for my vote. And you insist that it's false. If calling me an asshole, AGAIN, is your best defense, then throw in the towel and admit the guy creeps you out.
I have more to say, but my boy Ares just jumped up, so I gotta get started on that.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 11:21 AMThat's some real thin ice you're treading on, motherfucker.
Ares!! God of Worlds of Warcraft!! I missed you, dude.
Real thin.
Yeah, you said that before. Real thin ice.
I reckon John Edwards might kick your ass if you were in fact to ask him about his dead son.
I reckon he would at that. But in all fairness, I wouldn't do that to the man. No parent should ever have to bury a son or daughter. It's unthinkable. Go back and get caught up and you'll see I'm referencing so and so who said yadda yadda yadda.
Maybe you should ask Biden about his dead wife and daughter or ask Obama about his dead mother while you're at it. I'm guessing you'd be swallowing more that a few teeth.
See, I wouldn't do that because those people aren't politicizing their personal tragedies by insisting they are NOT politicizing their personal tragedies.
Best keep that mask on, bitch.
You have a nice afternoon too, sir.
Actually, asshole, you're the one making the accusation, so the burden of proof is on you. If all you've got is a rumor from a book by someone who has an axe to grind because he hates Edwards, then it's obvious your intent is to spread an unsubstantiated smear. Rove has taught you well.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 9, 2007 11:33 AMAnd here I thought this was the party of compassion and intelligence. You're just as bad as they are. Especially you, Judith.
You talk about compassion and intelligence. HAHAHAHAHAH
You bet I am bad, and people like you have nothing but my contempt.
By-the-way, you will be here only as long as Steve Soto says you can be here. Ask Scout. I suspect your tenure here will be very short.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 11:44 AMActually, asshole,
No, YOU'RE the asshole, asshole!
(sigh.)
(drumming fingers on desk.)
Well, since neither one of us can prove it, let's just pause for a brief intermission.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 11:48 AMMaskedVigilante - I think the name says it all. Let's ignore this piece of shit and move on.
Posted by Judith at August 9, 2007 11:53 AMYou talk about compassion and intelligence. HAHAHAHAHAH
It IS kinda funny, isn't it? But I wasn't referring to myself.
people like you have nothing but my contempt
And who are the people like me? Which societal collective are you referencing? Do you often think and speak in terms of collectives? Are you a Socialist, Judith?
I suspect your tenure here will be very short.
Well, before you begin lobbying for the censoring of my speech and ultimate banishment...
Hang on a tick! That doesn't sound very democratic either, come to think of it.
Huh.
Anyway, if you guys wanna stop calling me names and get back to discussing the news any time soon, feel free.

I'd rather kick its ass, but alas we are in cyberland.
Posted by God Of War at August 9, 2007 12:03 PMThis explains a lot. This guy fancies himself a superhero. Whatev, dude. You might have been interesting if you hadn't come in acting like an asshole. Too bad.

Did you vote for me?
You might have been interesting if you hadn't come in acting like an asshole. Too bad.
Who said I was acting?
Posted by MaskedVigilante at August 9, 2007 12:22 PMI'd ask Edwards how he is going to manage to get the country to see what he sees about the delusional American convenience culture (mentioned in a Salon article today). That certainly has to be addressed if U.S. workers are to be paid decently for sound goods and services.
Nearly every damned thing we buy is made in China where they appear to manufacture mountains of what we vacuum up because it's cheap.
People see themselves as deprived if they have to stop using plastic grocery bags here in the land we're turning into a dumpster.
How are you going to suggest we have to get down to some immediate re-ordering of priorities?
