"Freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority."

Tell that to those who signed the Constitution of the United States. Rudy's not a wackjob, Rudy is dangerous.

Rudy is easily beaten, even in this age. He is dangerous, yes, but far too blatantly so.

I think.

Between Rudy's latest statement and Gonzo bringing justice to Iraq, I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone.

So, Gonzales arrived in Baghdad on Saturday to meet with department officials who have been there to help fashion the country's legal system.

"I am pleased to see firsthand ... the progress that the men and women of the Justice Department have made to rebuild Iraq's legal system and law enforcement infrastructure."

Gonzo, don't forget to teach them about corruption, lying and how to kiss ass.

Paradox, I agree. Rudy shoots his mouth off too much, and blatantly says what others believe but are smart enough not to say. Let's say he is stupid and dangerous.

Here's an interesting story that the media won't mention.

Ex-DOJ employees spar with administration

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales knows well the ways of sparring with the Senate Judiciary Committee, but increasingly he is facing an uncommon and more effective adversary: former Department of Justice career attorneys who are out to settle the score with Gonzales and the administration.

After months of scandal, firings and some testimony from Gonzales that many on Capitol Hill found wholly unsatisfying, these ex-Justice Department employees are taking a rare step and fighting back.

paradox sounds depressed and I only say that because I know the feeling. What the hell are we supposed to do now? Anybody?

Posted by dus7 at August 11, 2007 10:44 PM

Just read that Alberto Gonzales went over to Iraq for the third time to offer advice on legal matters, touting what great progress Iraqis have made in their legal system...and completely blowing off the Shia secret torture prisons, the secret Shia shariah courts, the secret shariah death sentences handed down by these courts, and the dead bodies that continue to be dumped on Iraqi streets with signs of torture, as a warning to all Iraqis to either obey shariah law or die a horrible death.

Forcing me to conclude:

Getting legal advice from Alberto Gonzales, or any of the Shia shariah "specialists" over in Iraq, would be like getting lectured on medical ethics by Dr. Mengele.

Rudy's not a wackjob, Rudy is dangerous.

Rudy is worse than Bush.

The Oracle, great comparison and oh so true.

This seems very invasive, but certainly is interesting. I just typed in the zip code only for the wealthest section of St. Louis, and the majority of those with wealth are giving their donations to Romney.

FundRace makes it easy to search by name or address to see which presidential candidates your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors are contributing to. Or you can see if your favorite celebrity is putting their money where their mouth is.

FundRace gives you the technology to do what politicians and journalists have been doing for years: find out where the money's coming from, see who it's going to.

Now that I know Schnucks Grocery Stores support Romney, I will no longer be shopping in their stores.

Jesus everybody, Rudy is mob all over, don't y'all know that? Paradox is depressed? The examined life is not worth living...some TV chef said that I believe, or was it a pedophile Greek philosopher?

Posted by Mal Feasance at August 12, 2007 06:05 AM

I don't know if Paradox is depressed, but feeling helpless and neutered certainly can lead to dark days. There are three words that keep running through my head on a daily basis, "I can't believe...."

I'm most frustrated with the American people. Politicians can be removed from office, but the fact that this Country is inhabited with people who either don't vote, or who seemingly don't mind if the fascists take over this Country. This is absolutely astounding to me.

Rudy Lying under oath.

To become a Federal prosecutor in N.Y. and later as Ronald Reagan s 3rd highest-ranking U.S. Justice Department official, Rudy Giuliani lied during his F.B.I. background checks when asked if any relative or associate was a convicted felon or had organized crime connections. Those lies were federal crimes. As revealed in 'Rudy! An Investigative Biography' by Wayne Barrett, Giuliani's father was a convicted hold-up man who served time in an upstate prison and was later employed as an enforcer for a Mafia loan shark operation. When the book was first released Giuliani denied and later admitted it was true. According to the book, a number of his other relatives were also in the Mafia.
