Comments: GOP Senator Larry Craig Busted In June for Lewd Conduct

it's ok if you're a Republican

ROFLOL, oh yes, the party of "family values"

why do they always end up with a dick in their mouth?

Posted by gay veteran at August 27, 2007 04:09 PM

Mike Rogers outed Larry Craig back in 2006.

As is usually the case with conservative lawmakers on the downlow, Craig was one of the most vehemently homophobic members of Congress.

I smell another Democratic pickup in Idaho!

Gag.

Posted by tempus at August 27, 2007 04:21 PM

Karma is huge on this one!

The former Chairman of the Senate VA Committee and still the ranking rebupli-con (hypocrite) on the VA Committee did bu$h'$ bidding for years to fuck the Veteran's over.

Couldn't happen to nicer prick!

Posted by Seven of Six at August 27, 2007 04:37 PM

Gag.

No, temp, he's republi-con. They all have enough experience to pass it well past the uvula without gagging.

The Republican Party: for bloggers, they're the gift that just keeps giving and giving and giving.

While everyone is fascinated with Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig jerking off in Minnesota airport men's room and Alberto I Wipe My Ass with the Constitution Gonzales desertion of the ship of state, the markets are tanking for the third week in a row.

Not only is the Multi-Millionaire Media wall to wall with this bullshit, but I had to drill down to a fourth-tier conspiracy nutjob blog to find ANY news about the markets. "Blogtopia" (yesssssss, skippy said it) is pathetic.

...the markets are tanking for the third week in a row.

I thought we were in a don't panic mode?

Thomas, You really have to be a Veteran to appreciate the downfall of Craig. He has screwed the Veteran for years as head of the Committee.
Just desserts!!
His policies and recomendations are part of the reasons for the Veteran problems we face today.

...the markets are tanking for the third week in a row.

well:

WASHINGTON: The risk of US markets falling into a recession mode is higher than ever before since the aftermath of September 11, 2001 attacks, former us treasury secretary Larry Summers has said.

That quote is from The Economic Times dated today, 8.27.07. For some reason TLC wouldn't let me post the link....curious that scout can still post his blather but I can't post an important link. Technology is an imperfect science at best.

Surely it's possible to find a homophobic authoritarian war supporter who doesn't have severe mental heath issues.

Although considering Prez and Vice, maybe not.

Posted by clio at August 27, 2007 06:18 PM

OK, so you're on the throne in the airport and crazed fire ants start coming out of the baseboard in droves.

Critter-stomping for your life you accidently tap out some convoluted morse-code signal for gay sex.

To make matters worse, an under-cover vice squad officer just happens to be in the next stall.

Now be honest, who hasn't had this happen to them?

Sweet TIKI, sweet! ROFLMAO!!!

Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Bob Livingston, Rudy Guiliani, Newt Gingrich, John McCain, Dan Burton, Henry Hyde, J. C. Watts, Ted Haggard, Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, that state senator in Florida! Shoot! I'm going Republican. These family-values guys seem to be having all the fun.

who hasn't had this happen to them

I've been in AZ gas station restrooms; it's not a bug, it's a feature!

I smell another Democratic pickup in Idaho!

Don't hold your breath. Aryan Nation may be down, but they're not out by a long shot. The Dem win in '06 riled 'em up like... AZ restroom fireants!

Posted by iamcoyote at August 27, 2007 07:00 PM

I swear, I have found that in a "Red" state you must keep at least two urinals or stalls between you and the next guy in order to protect yourself. Three is better, but sometimes that just isn't practical.

Posted by PretzelsOne at August 27, 2007 07:14 PM

The GOP is a bunch only Chris Hanson could do justice to .

Posted by JP at August 27, 2007 07:35 PM

Somewhere I read about a month ago a prediction that another shoe was going to drop. I wonder if this is the shoe?

Somehow I think that the "Family Values" platform is dead.

It certainly is a toe-tapper Judith!

In case Craig resigns, the Governor of Idaho is one C.L. “Butch” Otter.

You're right Steve, the stories write themselves!

Posted by Seven of Six at August 27, 2007 08:42 PM

I smell another Democratic pickup in Idaho!

Idaho is so terminally reich-wing.
You could run a moron with an R after his name and win.

No wait, that's the United States.

Posted by Mike G at August 27, 2007 09:02 PM

The defensive Craig in 1982 is featured on an old ABC News clip linked at Talking Points Memo when Craig thought he was subject to the accusations of a Congressional Page.

Wasn't this about the same time as the scandal involving gays from Boys Town in Omaha and connections to the White House?

Posted by gtash at August 28, 2007 05:46 AM

Looks like it might be another case of a homophobe working out self-loathing through public policy. This guy and Ted Haggard. The hypocrisy of this stuff is really not the worst or it. The worst of it is that we get public policy shaped by these unfortunate advocates of "family values and all things decent."

There is a weird secondary dynamic in this stuff where giving in to the impulse to bash them for their hypocrisy and stupidity also feels like gay-bashing. Somehow the homophobia of the country over the course of their own lifetimes have made victims of weak men like Larry Craig and Ted Haggard. And I don't mean weak because they may or may not be gay, I am thinking of their weakness in being able to know themselves and be who they are. It doesn't get any weaker than that.

Posted by angel at August 28, 2007 06:43 AM

let's face it, whenever some right-wing politican or preacher constantly harps on and on and on about Teh Gays then the FIRST question ought to be "so when did you first realize you might be Gay?"

Posted by Gay Veteran at August 28, 2007 09:40 AM

The Washington Times carried stories about the Reagan White House midnight tours involving gay escorts and Republican staff in 1989. They were connected to Boys Town in Omaha.
