This is not a new poll really. And Zogby is trash, largely discredited.
Posted by Bill R. at August 27, 2007 06:31 PMPolls aside, none of the top three are getting any separation and I can't help but wonder if they each like it that way. They are all going into this campaign with the Howard Dean experience and the John Kerry experience informing their understanding. They are each determined not to repeat Dean; they are each trying to position themselves for a Kerry-like rush to the front that ends the race early and emphatically.
That said, if Edwards wants to hold down the left end of the spectrum, he is going to have to get loud and get loud more often on the issues that matter to those voters.
Posted by James E. Powell at August 27, 2007 06:51 PMThe answer for Edwards is to get single women voters to vote pragmaticly, not symbolicly. A lot of women voters precieve Hillary as being more populistic than voting record suggests.
That's the demographic challenge Edwards' faces. If he can communicate effectivly to his natural base, he will be the next president, elected with a solid mandate of more than 3 points.
When will Iowa have their caucus?
Seems Floridians are very upset. There's even an idea that TV stations not air any DNC's Denver coverage from the networks. Pre-empt with alternate programing. I heard of many Democrats will be changing their registration so that their vote will be counted. The state has voted for a Democratic president only twice, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. You'd think the DNC would want these people involved and energized. Think again, thanks Donna Brazille for endorsing Dean's folly.
I wonder about the Michigan change to the 15th of January. Will their delegates also not be seated. A 48 state convention, back to the fifties for Democrats.
Conceding these two states this early will dash any Democratic hopes for the WH.
Posted by peter at August 28, 2007 07:29 AMso he's down in one poll, by a little bit, with five fucking months to go. stop talking as if the elections tomorrow, polls go up and down.
ill be ashamed, as a democrat, if that fake ass liberal hillary clinton wins. edwards is right, "you can't replace corporate republicans with corporate democrats." and there is a good chance that, if she wins the nomination, she will lose the general. i mean, 45% unfavorable rating, come on/
