Comments: Bush Wants A Middle Ground?

jeez, I wouldn't bet against the Dems seeing this as yet another opportunity to give Bush what he wants

Someone mentioned John Danforth as heading up the DOJ. I couldn't agree more. Solid man, with a reputation of integrity, and disgusted with the GOP. He would fly through the approval process. Of course, Bush would never appoint him.

Gonzo, wanting to please the Master, did not serve him well. In reality, because Bush wanted a puppet as head of the DOJ, half of the issues he has faced has been because of Gonzo carrying out his every wish (and Roves). He would have done better to have a man/woman who told him no once in a while.

"Yet the Beltway reporters all seem afflicted with Broderism, in that they continue to project their desire for bipartisan bonhomie onto a man who has never governed that way."

Translation from BeltwaySpeak:
"Centrism" = "Extremist Conservative Republicanism"

I'd like to agree with you, Judith, but the man responsible for (in)Justice Clarence Thomas is just too much for me to go along with.

Independently of Jane Hamsher, I suggested Joementum.
