Comments: Who's Really Arming The Insurgents?

Bush's PermaWar wouldn't last too long if the other side had no munitions.

Steve, Iran has to get there weapons from some place don't they?

How quickly we forget all this happened or got life under rummy's watch.

This reminds me.

People who tried to blow the whistle on illegal arms trading in Iraq were ARRESTED and TORTURED by US.

It's all just one big fascist neocon war machine for profit and power.

Fraud? Kickbacks? This is BushAmerica Kapitalism! And using the stooge taxpayers as the unwitting "seed investors" to boot! With no claim to the "profits"! Bravo, our officers have learned their entrepreneurial "lessons" well. I'm sure our Repub militarist friends will blithely observe that these abuses happen in every imperial occupation, how comforting...

I like that phrase, "largest ring...uncovered in the conflict here". Wonder what kind of "rings" operate back home in Red State, USA?

Seems like an awful lot of "bad apples" in the imperial military, doesn't it? Or perhaps it's just my imagination.....carry on, colonel(s)!

No wonder they're so upset about finding Iranian weapons in Iraq. They're horning in on the market!

How's a hard-working Lieutenant Colonel supposed to make a buck when those damn Iranians start undercutting his prices?

you'd think this would be grounds for court-martial of Petraeus. Shouldn't he be resigning in disgrace today?

seems like in this administration no one is responsible for anything..it is easily the most perverted and corrupt group in the history of the republic..by far... it knows no bounds..and can you imagine the things we don't know about...and that piece of shit can stand in front of a camera and tell the american people that his good friend the attorney general's name was dragged through the mud for political reasons..what a failure he has been ..it is truly sickening

My 10th grade daughter is reading "1984" for her literature class. She said it is scary how much the current administration reminds her of the book. She said even the president's speeches. She said if you take everything he says and reverse or negate it, that is closer to the truth...

Gonzalez is "a talented honorable person"

"Heckuva job, Brownie"

"Mission Accomplished"

just a few...

I know it's not a popular position to defend Petraeus, but...

What has been the administration's MO when military men say (or hint at saying) things that the administration doesn't agree with? (e.g. Shinseki, Abizaid, Powell, Garner). Is it not possible that all this drama about the missing weapons bubbled up after Petraeus hinted that his September report would not indicate significant progress? Work with me here...
