Comments: Can Al-Maliki And Democrats Help Each Other?

Since so many rotten contractors have defrauded the government for $10's of Billions of Dollars, shit where's the $9Billion dollars that was handed out from pallets of money. Screw ask Halliburton, Bechtel, Blackwater and the rest of those rotten scumbags to cough up the dough and call it a day. Or bet yet, cut them off 100% and hand that money to the troops.

"there is no role for the federal government to rebuild their housing stock."

Well, it seems to me that when you are responsible for damn failings that flooded out thousands of people, there sure as hell is a "roll for the Federal Govenment."

or "role"

Fight for AG? You have got to be kidding. Democrats will bend over, take the "wide stance" position, and Bush will get anyone he wants.

the only two positions george w wants to see from a democrat is bent over ...or kneeling in front of him...that's about it

How about the billions the Levy Boards raised in taxing the locals, Judith. They have enough to build casino's, but not enough to keep the Levy's in good repair. Or even fix them before this happens. The local papers all had this happening sooner or later. Had extensive articles written in the newspapers. Still the Levy Boards spent the money building casinos.

Congress should pay the $50 billlion that Commander Codpiece wants for Iraq, along with a tax increase on mega-millionaires to pay for it

Peter dear, the levys were never built right in the first place. I know this much, it is NOT THE FAULT OF THE PEOPLE who lived and died in NO!

No Judith, the people (locals) pay taxes to the Levy Board each year for upkeep. There are many of these boards and they chose to invest the money in other enterprises like casinos rather than keep the levy sound. Look into the Levy Boards revenues, they take in many millions each year. The board members get paid well and they've invested the moneies for other things than upkeep.

The people paid for protection to these Levy Boards and didn't get what they paid for.

we're pouring $3,000,000,000 a week into the sands of Iraq (actually into the coffers of Halliburton, etc.), that could rebuild New Orleans
