Bush should have been put on permanent vacation a long time ago.
Yeah, that workaholic Clinton. How dare he take the office seriously enough to not take two years off for vacations during his eight years as President. Jeez, is the office that important that a guy can't go off and round 'em up some brush?
Posted by Judith at September 2, 2007 05:00 AMand let's never forget that he was on vacation in august of 01..neglecting osama
Posted by dennis at September 2, 2007 05:15 AMDoes it really matter if Bush is on vacation or not?
After all, Cheney is the de facto president: planning the Iraq war and now, the Iran war.
Bush (like Reagan before him) is just a figurehead they wind up, and send out to kinda' read a teleprompter.
Posted by Christopher at September 2, 2007 06:37 AMWhere was Cindy this August? Not in Texas, now she's running against princess sparkle. She's running against the current Democratic leadership. They aren't worthy.
And Chrm. Dean and the DNC just about guaranteed HC the nomination by prohibiting candidates from campaigning in states holding their primary against the rules. HC is leading in both Michigan and Florida. By having candidates boycott these two states as all candidates have agreed to now. He's handing the news coming out of those two prominent states to HC as the winner. Those other states in January will virtually not matter when these 'beauty' contest outcomes make the news. Super duper duper Tuesday will be influenced by them for sure. Chrm. Dean must favor HC as does many on that board that voted for the unseating of those states delegates. They're picking her for you.

Posted by Christopher at September 2, 2007 09:40 AMThis may be unreasonable or out of line for a mere commenter, but could you please put photos of Bush below the fold? The Leftcoaster is my home page. It is jarringly unpleasant.

So like Cindy Sheehan has to be in Texas? That's pretty stupid even for you. It's like asking "Where are the republi-cons" when we all know they are out committing crimes. Nice party...for the greedy, the pervs, the liars, the thieves and the murderers! And you are all so "moral".
That "moral" label is like putting a Ferrari emblem on a Honda. You can exclaim "I gots me a Ferrari!" Yet the truth beggars description.
Posted by phidipides at September 2, 2007 10:28 AMor an 'empathic' label on Hitler.

Looky there! Another republi-con exits the stall to blather words of wisdom!
No, jj. He is asinine, so there is no need to answer him.
Posted by phidipides at September 2, 2007 12:12 PMI see the victory last November just ran her out of Texas. In Texas every year since her son died for this president's vacation time. Now she wants to win princess sparkle's seat because princess sparkle didn't impeach Bush. Nice to see this president have a peaceful August break. Thanks Democratic Congress, for the peace.

What a nice vacation this has been this year. Again, thank you Democratic Congress for not causing any grief.
Posted by peter at September 2, 2007 02:07 PMHsu didn't overlook the little people -- including $5,000 to the New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus and $2,000 to Governor Lynch.
Other New England beneficiaries of Hsu's largess include Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Chivas), $38,000; Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), $19,100; the Rhode Island Democratic Party, $11,000; Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), $7,500; Senator John Kerry (D-MA), $6,350; Representative Tom Allen, D-ME, $2,500; Governor John Destefano of CT, $2,500; Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI),$2,000; and State Treasurer Tim Cahill of Massachusetts, $1,000.
Hsu = Abramoff

Peter, Democrats DO NOT cause Bush grief. It is Bush's actions that cause him grief. You guys never can get that concept, can you? It's like the drunk driver blaming the cop for his grief, upon being stopped. Grow up!

Again simpleton, you prove my point. You are not capable of an intellectual response to an alternative, and quite possibly correct viewpoint. Your response is to degrade, and that appears to be the extent of your abilities.
Peter is cruising past you unchallenged.

Is that like the Life member of the NRCC, Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari -a major republi-con contributor- whjo got busted for supplying terrorists with $150,000.00 in aid?
Is that like Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons accepting bribes in exchange for securing government contracts?
Is that like major Republican donor Alan Fabian being charged with 23 counts of bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, and perjury?
So? Which one is it most like?
...and quite possibly correct viewpoint...
You've never had what it takes to play this game, moron. You need to yell at your mom to schlep another bag of Cheetos and some Mountian Dew down the basement stairs to your Cave-O-Doom. Be sure to mash a few zits in the mirror when you heave your butt out of the chair for a bathroom break. And maybe when you're through there you can pull a Ted Klaudt on a kid in your neighborhood. You republi-cons are all the same.

People, the President of the United State of America is never on "vacation." (Regardless of party.)
That's a bold face lie bags! Where was our leader bu$h for 7 minutes after he was told of the attack on the World Trade Centers? I'd call that a vacation... why didn't you know, in the Christian faith, 7 minutes could represent 10,000 years of geologic time!
