Bush and Cheney are hungry for change as well and WWIII is what they have in mind.
This time though, I think they will fail to get the same lizard brained support for their next disasterous failure in Iran.
That doesn't mean they won't go for it anyway.

WOW, this president is joining some great admins. Thanks TLC for placing him up there with FDR, Truman, Kennedy and Johnson. They did so much for the people and this president is amongst them. The Jimmy Carter one is a low blow, I'll forgive you on that one.
""Property tax bills soar as services fall
Levies increase despite decline in home values

Residential property taxes rose an average of $161 in cities and towns across the state in the past fiscal year, as home assessments hit historic highs despite declining market values" Boston Globe
And y'all said the economy was bad or is this where a Democratic administration takes us. The people will surely miss Romney now.
Posted by peter at September 3, 2007 03:46 AMWhat did Jimmy Carter achieve in his four years? The Palestinian/Israel...the Camp David Accords? After the hostages were taken in Teheran, he closeted himself in the WH for MONTHS because he was so grieved over the situation, which was disturbing, but heartwarming. He was a HUMAN President; not a monster like his followers, Reagan, and The Bush Bastards.
Hillary Clinton has my vote. I can't believe I wrote that!
This country is down the toilet, might as well have a blonde, thick-legged plumber as not.

Lets drink to the hard working people
Lets drink to the lowly of birth
Raise your glass to the good and the evil
Lets drink to the salt of the earth
Say a prayer for the common foot soldier
Spare a thought for his back breaking work
Say a prayer for his wife and his children
Who burn the fires and who still till the earth
And when I search a faceless crowd
A swirling mass of gray and
Black and white
They dont look real to me
In fact, they look so strange
Raise your glass to the hard working people
Lets drink to the uncounted heads
Lets think of the wavering millions
Who need leaders but get gamblers instead
Spare a thought for the stay-at-home voter
His empty eyes gaze at strange beauty shows
And a parade of the gray suited grafters
A choice of cancer or polio
And when I look in the faceless crowd
A swirling mass of grays and
Black and white
They dont look real to me
Or dont they look so strange
Lets drink to the hard working people
Lets think of the lowly of birth
Spare a thought for the rag taggy people
Lets drink to the salt of the earth
Lets drink to the hard working people
Lets drink to the salt of the earth
Lets drink to the two thousand million
Lets think of the humble of birth

Happy Labor Day everyone!
President, Rice, Gates, and a bunch of the Pentagon are in Anbar Provence, Iraq. If he spends the night, will be the statement on conditions there.
Happy Labor Day folks!
Posted by peter at September 3, 2007 06:03 AMNo point in pining for change, we've many more disasters to live through under Bushco, as the "Iranian Attack" product roll-out commences this week. How will the lib'rul media handle this one?
Will Sam Gardiner resume posting now that an aerial attack on Iran is Cheney's final solution?
Posted by euzoius at September 3, 2007 06:31 AMPeople involved in labor and women who are IN labor have both been screwed at some point.
Posted by TIKI AL at September 3, 2007 06:37 AMWill Sam Gardiner resume posting now that an aerial attack on Iran is Cheney's final solution?
But we keep reading the words of the x-purts on TLC who say there is no such scheme underway to begin war with Iran.
Despite everyone from Cheney's Chief of Staff to Pentagon officials saying they're busy at work plotting an invasion of Iran.
Can't wait to see what members of the Congress oppose such a military action or will it turn out to be another 2002 with nearly every Dem and all the Repugs knocking each other to the ground to vote to give Bush the authority to bomb Tehran?
Posted by Christopher at September 3, 2007 06:44 AMMary thanks for the story. but lemee me tell you, I should know better than to click on the comment sections here anymore.
And there's peter doing what he does best for the rnc by marking his territory here with his dribble....the scent is disgusting... but gawd forbid of course we must allow the otherside to present their viewpoints in order get opposing perspectives and not have an echo chamber here, and then of course there's the first amendment thingy....I'm all for balance and opposing viewpoints and opinions if it comes with some sound analysis and not the usual kneejerk crap he spouts. It's the fact that peter can turn anything and everything reported here into a plus and wonderful thing for Bush and repukes in general that is the problem. It's all just so predictable and such bs.
I mean even though most commentators here generally agree on issues reported here, there isn't total agreement here on policy, strategy, or even the candidates among us. But with peter, he always agrees with the stated repuke talking point, strategy, policy du jour....always....always...he's a lockstepper.
Anyway have a great labor day people...especially if you haveta work.
I'm outta here....gorgeous picture perfect late summer beach day here in the northeast.

I seem to remember someone around here saying that the US was definitely going to attack Iran in June. How'd that work out for ya?
SoS, I saw that that about Edwards getting the endorsements. On Labor Day, too. Quite a coup.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 3, 2007 07:10 AMI seem to remember someone around here saying that the US was definitely going to attack Iran in June. How'd that work out for ya?
You sound disappointed, Princess Doppleganger? You and Peter (the other troll) have much in common on the Iran matter.
But then, water always finds its own level. LOL!
Posted by Christopher at September 3, 2007 07:19 AMFolks, we've had plans to invade Iran since 1980. Plans, doesn't mean that we intend to at any time. We had plans for Iraq too, doesn't mean that Rummy followed them at all. Plans are plans, a what if. We may enforce a UN move, just like France may enforce a UN direction.
Posted by peter at September 3, 2007 07:45 AMYou sound disappointed
Disappointed that I was right and you were, as usual, wrong? Not at all. Unlike some who spend their days thinking up silly-ass names rather than do actual research, I read stuff like this,
President Vladimir Putin said Friday that the Russian Air Force would resume regular, long-range patrols by nuclear-capable bombers over the oceans, after a 15-year break following the collapse of the Soviet Union, in another sign of Russia's resurgent military might.
...
He spoke on the sidelines of a separate military exercise, in the Chelyabinsk region, that included troops from China and Central Asian nations in an elaborate war game simulating troops storming a village taken over by terrorists, dodging mock roadside bombs and rappelling from helicopters.
Russia and China say "no" to attacking Iran.
At the beginning of August, the USS Enterprise relieved the USS Stennis and USS Nimitz in the Persian Gulf. Along with the Kitty Hawk, they participated in a big "attack Iran" wargame in the Pacific called "Valiant Sheild" in mid-August.
Now, the Stennis is at home in WA, the Kitty Hawk is at sea and the Nimitz left Hong Kong on Aug. 25 for home in San Diego. Its 6 month tour is almost up. The IKE just had a family cruise, which means it's home, too.
Add to that, the quiet release of the Iranian diplomats we were holding in Iraq; the departure of the British from Basra, indicating that Brown is no lapdog like Blair was (even though he stated unequivocally that the UK would not participate in an Iran war after Bush tried to use the sailors' capture by Iran as a catalyst); the IAEA's announcement that Iran was cooperating with weapons inspection, and that their enrichment of uranium was slowing rather than speeding up as Ahmadinejad boasted, as well as a number of other clues, and it doesn't look like an attack is in the works. It's all bluster and fear-mongering to me. And just because petey's a right wing clown, doesn't mean he's not correct about governments having all kinds of contingency plans of attack. Anyone with half a brain knows that to be true. I guess we give you too much credit.
Frankly, I find it silly to form opinions just because you hate the people who hold opposing views. But silliness seems to be your trademark, Christopher. It must come from waking up each morning in a puddle o' piss. Addles the brain, I hear.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 3, 2007 08:48 AMIt's good to see Princess Doppleganger finally find a kindred soul on the issue of Iran -- even though it's Peter. So cherish him, pumpkin. From what I see, you don't have many.
Posted by Christopher at September 3, 2007 09:15 AMFolks, we've had plans to invade Iran since 1980.
And made some up to invade Iraq...uhh, get the WMDs...uhh, Saddam was a bad guy...,uhh, bring them democracy...uhh, support their democracy...uhh, the surge is working...uhh, gas prices will triple...uhh, remove their democratically elected leader...uhh, ad infinitum.
The great thing about the administration of the Mad King is their willingness to end the careers of military strategists and tacticians who disagree with the Mad King's inexperienced view of how the military should be used.
Rationality is not a long suit with the peter-party (and damn, don't these moral republi-cons seem to love a little cock now and then). I have no doubts that the administration would love to "hit" Iran, even though their actions in Iraq have just about destroyed the finest military ground forces in the world. What the military says won't matter -we have Iraq for proof of that.
WOW, this president is joining some great admins.
These were unpopular administrations. You get yours because it's an incompetent administration. There really is no comparison.
And y'all said the economy was bad or is this where a Democratic administration takes us.
Actually, that's where a republi-con administration takes you when it passes legislation forcing the implementation of some plan, but then never funds it as they promise. The list is long. It's why sales taxes have ratcheted up, user fees have increased, and the infrastructure is turning to dust. Again, you people did it. Congratulations! You people are the perfecta of incompetence. I should have bet on stupid to go long.
policy du jour....always....always...he's a lockstepper.
It's because of their morality. Something in their itty little racist brains tells them they can never disagree with authority. Either that or he just likes they way Commander Codpiece looks in a flight suit.
Posted by phidipides at September 3, 2007 09:17 AMIt's okay, Christopher. We understand that analysis and debate are not your strong suits. Can't argue the facts, so you call names and make shit up. Stick with what you're good at, right?
BTW, hate to burst your bubble, but those 1000 friends signing up on your "I love Justin Timberlake" Myspace page aren't really friends.

Posted by peter at September 3, 2007 09:42 AMI see the kid from Okla. has put his Pfenning in.
Is Pfenning a republi-con code word used in men's bathrooms that means you like it on the bottom?
Say, if the Mad King, idiot son of George, flies into Iraq, why didn't he go to Baghdad? Seems logical. Instead, he flies into some military base surrounded by Americans and then scoots out really quickly. What's up with that? And why has he been there only 4 times since all this began? It's like he isn't connected or something. It's like he was using the troops as just another photo op.
And he is sooooo connected. Remember that little thing about dissolving Iraq's army? He can't remember why it was dissolved. He thought he ordered it to be maintained. Hmmm...he's the deciderer. Indeed, he is.

How about Edwards health plan requiring doctor's visits, even to psych doctors? Manditory doctor's visits.
Posted by peter at September 3, 2007 10:27 AM..even to psych doctors? Manditory doctor's visits. just might help some, huh Peetey??
If I thought for a minute that "hungry for change" meant anything more than "a more effective Big Brother" I would be encouraged.
I do not think that Americans, as a group, have reached the point where they want fundamental, systemic change in how things are done here in the United States. The social and economic forces that produced George W. Bush are all still in place. There has been no reflection or examination of the assumptions Americans make about themselves and the world. The ruling class still rules without challenge. And the vast majority of Americans still believe that if we could only get rid of [fill in the blank] everything would be just fine.

Uhhhh..it's called a checkup, a physical. You know, catch shit before it's a bigger problem. Don't you get a yearly exam? Of course, in Edward's plan this is only for those who choose to join universal health care. You can keep your employer-based stuff and visit the Dr. once every 20 years or so.
And the psychiatrist part: What he said in Tipton is that, and I quote: "Republi-cons are fucking back-biting insane. It will be mandatory that they be placed on sex-offender registries and see psychiatrists on a weekly basis!", to which the crowd arose cheering and yelling "Our children are finally safe from the pervs!", placed Edwards on their shoulders, and sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" for 30 minutes. It brought a tear to my eyes!
