Comments: Lame duck – no turkee!

I think Bush's post-WH speechmaking career will have the shelf life of Vanilla Ice's.

"There is no substitute for sitting down, looking him in the eye, and having a conversation with him"

show up. Now git me onna plane outta this sandpit".

Going be really tough to look al-Maliki in the eye given the fact Old Fuss and Feathers is bypassing Baghdad to focus on the "miracle" at Anbar. Supposedly this is a symbolic no confidence gesture aimed at al Maliki. Yeah right. Smells like Bush didn't want to go anywhere near Baghdad knowing the photo op would not have gone as well.

History always mellows out the partisanship of the day. I'm sure he will be looked at as fondly in the future as Truman is today. I'm sure much to your shagrin.

Jesus Christ, Bush drives me insane. He is a fucking idiot, and Cheney is a fucking lunatic.

Posted by tempus at September 3, 2007 12:23 PM

I'd like to hear Bush talk about tribal sovereignty

Now THAT would be worth 50-75K. I love a good stand-up routine.

Posted by ann at September 3, 2007 12:26 PM

Why doesn't every just ignore this strutting, little arrogant asshole who thinks he's king. Nothing he says means anything. Only what his servants actually do is important.

Going back to the original article shows just what the Iraqis think of these dog and pony shows:

But even such tight control could not always filter out the bizarre world inside the barricades. At one point, the three were trying to discuss the state of Iraqi security forces with Iraq's national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, but the large, flat-panel television set facing the official proved to be a distraction. Rubaie was watching children's cartoons.

When Moran asked him to turn it off, Rubaie protested with a laugh and said, "But this is my favorite television show," Moran recalled.

I'm sorry about my language. Bush and Cheney do that to me.

Tempus, been to 8.0 recently, ever?

Yeah, lame duck that FISA vote last month.

thanks for the excellent post Erin.

and what Marie said.

just for grins...

An Irishman walking through a field in Ireland sees a man drinking water from a pond with his hand.
The Irishman shouts "Na ól an t-uisce, tá sé lán de chac bo!"

The man yells back "I'm English, speak English, I don't understand you".

The Irishman shouts back "Use both hands, you'll get more in."

Well, Hadley is the designated Kremlin "newsmaker" here. Nero jr supposedly pulled this stunt, according to Hadley, because he wants "to put himself in a position to make some important decisions". Hmmmm, so Hadley's trying to emphasize that there was method to the Bushco madness, that's his part of the daily Kremlin script.

So what upcoming Nerovian "decision" are we being "prepared" for? A vague reference to the supposedly upcoming "surge" decision? Not likely, that's already made, obviously.

A "decision" regarding the future of our installed PM, al-Maliki? Much more likely, as a presidential "visit" to the Occupied Territories is quite unusual. An attempt to order al-Maliki that the Oil Law get "passed" in Magical September, or else? A decision to scrap the Iraq "democracy" and install Allawi as strongman, in preparation for the nuclear attack on Iran?

Bushco isn't done by a long shot, unfortunately for the nation and world. And I think we can see that the Congress making any real attempt to block Cheney's every move is not going to happen. See the FISA gutting......

Perhaps Bush will feel "liberated" enough, and "in a position", to make the necesssary decisions which will carry him (and us) into complete infamy in the eyes of the world. He's already the worst president in history, so he's got only his own records to break.....

There are no historical models or precedents for Bushco in American history. The historians will deal with "him" as a sui generis phenomenon, or look to the 1930s German example when trying to explain him and his vile authoritarian "movement" and deadend supporters like the appalling petr. Nixon was a well-meaning moderate compared to Bushco.

Poor petey and teabagger, still unaware that Bush has his "audiences" handpicked. You don't read much, do you?

Gay Veteran,

It is spelled c-h-a-g-r-i-n.

You are very welcome.

Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 3, 2007 03:09 PM

Bagley, have you seen your latest asine error in the posts above? Or does it need to be dutifully explained to you due to your limited intellectual functioning?

Posted by euzoius at September 3, 2007 03:17 PM

euzoius,

What...

"... latest asine error..."

And it is spelled a-s-i-n-i-n-e.

You are welcome.

Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 3, 2007 03:26 PM

Gay veteran was merely quoting the previous spelling error ("shagrin") of your Rightist compatriot, peter. So that's who you "corrected" in your fine school-marmish fashion.

But allow me to observe that those who found proper spelling a daunting personal mental challenge usually delight in pointing out the spelling errors of others, thinking it a sure sign of intellectual superiority.

When actually such "gotcha's" simply reveal a small-minded twit with nothing substantive to say whatever.

Is there a better definition of "Bagley"? I'm sure about the spelling, anyway.

Posted by euzoius at September 3, 2007 03:45 PM

euzoius,

Thank you for letting me know what [my] "... latest asine error..." was. I do appreciate your efforts, always.

In any event, I do not find "proper spelling a daunting personal mental challenge" and nor do I " delight in pointing out the spelling errors of others."

I am simply here to help out.

[A] "small-minded twit with nothing substantive to say whatever..."

Well, it is your opinion. And, as with most of your opinions, not based upon any actual truth.

Cheers!

Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 3, 2007 03:51 PM

Gay Veteran, bagley served. When you owe your success and wealth to the greatest capitalistic country known to man there is a sense of duty.

Only problem, that great capitalistic society is cannabilizing itself.

It's gone from, "Fuck you, I have mine", to "I took yours, I support everyone who continues to take yours, what the hell are you going to do about it!"

Did you hear about outgoing V.A. head, "Heckuva Job Jimmy" Nicholson, saying that the VA doesn't need anymore money for its Veterans!

Yeah, just pass the proposed budget, forget all those promises bu$h made to homeless Vets in his VFW speech. All the while he's asking for 50 billion for continued warfare and the occupation of Iraq.

How can there be one homeless Vet in the greatest capitalistic country known to man?
Right, only men with a conscious like bagley and peter can rationalize that question!

Posted by Seven of Six at September 3, 2007 08:58 PM

Right, only men with a conscious like bagley and peter can rationalize that question!

ROFLMAO!

It is spelled c-h-a-g-r-i-n.

And you are a maroon for even bringing it up.

Ahhhh! The republi-cons are touting the Mad King's prowess in leveraging N. Korean nukes out of Kim's tiny little hands. It only took him seven years to get back the point he started at when he took it on from Clinton. Now that's success! We are back where we started at.

And so did I.

A real Larry Craig moment, eh?

Posted by phidipides at September 3, 2007 09:15 PM

This is my prediction :
Bushes (dumbya and the lump) go back to Crawford. There is no bigbuck speaking tours for dubya - no one wants to hear someone else's words read poorly - and it's hell for Laura. She moves to Houston within two years, and w follows. He can't take it there, there is no respect for him on the streets. He starts drinking. He's a lousy mean drunk, and soon retreats to Crawford - alone. The healthiest president will be dead in 12-15 years. When he dies, he leaves unexplained hundreds of millions to his still worthless daughters. Everyone will ask "where did that come from?"

Posted by Richard W. Crews at September 3, 2007 10:10 PM

How many Billions of dollars will the US be borrowing from CHINA to bribe North Korea to do our bidding until the next election?

Posted by mparker at September 3, 2007 10:10 PM

Yeah, I kinda agree with the Richard Crews scenario as explicated above. I mean, nobody knows exactly how his life will play out, but if he thinks people actually want to hear him give speeches he's more deluded than I thought. Right now, even though much of his staff is bailing out, he can still find people who will kiss his moronic ass in hopes of getting money or favors. His handlers make sure when he gives a speech the audience will not contain any of the 80% of the world's populace that sincerely think the world would be much better off if he had never existed. He desperately craves people to kiss his ass (eg. Gonzo, Harriet) but the dude is in for a rude awakening--as an ex-prez he won't have anything to offer people in return for sucking up to him-- no clout, no power, no cabinet positions. I hope he doesn't go back to booze but instead comes to grip with his complete failure and repents.

Posted by howard hughes blues at September 4, 2007 03:45 AM

I should add that the book BUSH ON THE COUCH, written by an eminent psychiatrist, demonstrates that the guy has serious mental problems. He's been able to act out his delusions of grandeur by imagining himself as Abe Lincoln or Churchill, but it will be interesting to see to what degree his handlers will be able to keep him insulated from reality after he's out of office.

Posted by howard hughes blues at September 4, 2007 03:53 AM

Tempus, Bush and Cheney do that to all of us. My vocabulary has become five cuss words, and not much else lately.

Posted by Judith at September 4, 2007 04:53 AM

Yeah, I surmise that Bush will die a drunk after losing Laura to a young stud, or Bush takes on a male lover and leaves Laura.

Posted by Judith at September 4, 2007 05:28 AM

Yeah, I kinda agree with the Richard Crews scenario as explicated above.

He will have his speaking engagements. He'll speak volumes protesting his innocence to those in his cell block at the Hague. He'll have a speaking engagement in front of the world court to explain his support of torture. And then we'll never hear from the idiot again.

Posted by phidipides at September 4, 2007 07:48 AM

And Bagley, I was not pointing out how Peter misspelled chagrin. I was pointing out the studipity of his comments.
