regarding the foiled attack in Germany. For starters, the perps were so called Al Qaida,-trained in PAKISTAN. That would be Pakistan, as in George W. Bush's ally in the WOT. The terrorists professed a "profound hate for America"....gee, what a surprise. Maybe their families had been blow to bits by Shock and Awe, or their daughters tortured in AbuGraib. Face it, the United States provides safe training for these people and hands them all the reasons needed to turn to terror. And in return, we get to be really, really scared all the time, and take our shoes off at airports. George's Legacy.
Posted by T2 at September 5, 2007 08:34 AM...Democrats are trying at this late hour to reframe the Iraq debate, something they should have been doing all summer long
No kidding, Steve! It's not like they haven't been warned that the people are fed up. Maybe the dems need some hands-on seminars on planning and strategy, instead of counting on the same old loser consultants.
Speaking of framing - isn't it time we dumped "mainstream media?" The idiots on the toob are so far out of the mainstream, they look like they're trying out for a failed '70s sitcom.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 5, 2007 09:04 AMThat's great - where were these people five years ago? We didn't even get so much as a 'what's the worst that could happen?' from anyone, and the DFH were called traitors and told to grow up.
But now we're supposed to believe that the muckity mucks in the Press and some 'daring legislators' are furrowing their brows and really examining things to see if we need to change course.
I'm sure the Iraqis are more grateful than ever.
Posted by Ripley at September 5, 2007 09:30 AMRipley! Dah-link! Fancy meeting you here!
But really, never underestimate the power of a furrowed brow - Fred Thompson is running on it!
Posted by iamcoyote at September 5, 2007 09:53 AMwe're going to have the same goddamn discussion about Iraq next April
Posted by Gay Veteran at September 5, 2007 09:56 AMHi folks, this again. General Petraeus is going to checkmate the antiwar crowd at next weeks appearances. He will suggest about the 5000 that Sen. Warner wanted to be home by Christmas. He will also suggest a draw back of the 'surge' forces beginning next March/April. A brigade a month back to the 130K pre-surge number. All of this will be coming from a very nice outcome from the surge of troops. Sitting Democrats are going to accept this fairly quickly. Any Democrats that don't will be characterized as out of touch.
Notice the lack of any losses from Iraq intil today. No attacks, no bombings. People are believing and they can smell a win where the antiwar crowd wants defeat.
And from California...27 people now dead from heat related causes. Ca. will not buy electricity from coal producing plants. Electricity was there available if the state would use it. 27 more deaths on the global warming alarmist heads.
Posted by peter at September 5, 2007 10:35 AMIraq will remain a quagmire until our economic collapse forces withdrawal or the shi'ites rise up. Today's terrorists caught in Germany are our future for generations.
The Legacy of Conservatism.
MSM "trying out for a failed 70s sitcom" LOL.
Posted by euzoius at September 5, 2007 11:03 AMPerhaps the "MTM (Mary Tyler Moore) Press"?
Posted by euzoius at September 5, 2007 11:25 AMpoor pants pissing peter, the troops will start to come out in April because the Army is BROKEN! they either come out or their tour of duty will have to be extended from 15 months to 18 months (already been extended from 12 to 15) or more Reserves/National Guard units will have to be called up
you're so gullible that I have some ocean front property in Kansas to sell to you
Posted by Gay Veteran at September 5, 2007 11:28 AMPerhaps the "MTM (Mary Tyler Moore) Press"?
I like it! What with the stooges faithfully repeating that Bush "cries all the time" over the war, we're already there, huh? Poor guy just needs a hug.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 5, 2007 11:32 AMGreat description, All good Democrats on that show. Lou Grant a Republican, he'd shoot ya with a twelve gage real quick. Way to go you two, throw more Democrats under the bus.
