Mitch McConnell? LOL, makes my gaydar go off, same with Graham and Dear Leader (was Jeff Gannon the top or bottom?).
Posted by Gay Veteran at September 6, 2007 05:43 AMIf I were the cop that arrested him, I'd watch my back!
Posted by iamcoyote at September 6, 2007 05:45 AM"....he knows that I have been railroaded and all that"
Those railroaded guilty pleas by powerless, unsophisticated US senators. Weak victims trapped in an unjust, incomprehensible system they don't (can't!) understand. Sounds plausible.
Revoke that plea, Larry! On with the show!
I can see it now:
"Billy": "Members of the jury, Larry was helpfully picking up a scrap of toilet paper lying on the bathroom floor to wipe with---that's the sort of selfless, sacrificing public servant you see wrongly accused before you today".
Posted by euzoius at September 6, 2007 06:39 AMArlen "Magic Bullet" Specter at work again, fixin' what needs fixin', coverin' what needs coverin'. Its like "we'll wave a magic wand and make a plea bargain disappear" then the GOP will have a clean slate of Homophobes again and a guy who admitted trying to find gay sex in a public bathrooom can return to the Senate where he can relentlessly campaign against gay rights.
Posted by T2 at September 6, 2007 07:30 AMThis is great for our side. Drag this out!!
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at September 6, 2007 07:30 AMLet me see if I get this straight (no pun intended). Craig pleaded down, to disorderly conduct, correct? If Craig is allowed to change his plea to not guilty, the GOP, Idaho and the Nation gets to go through a trail for lewd and lascivious acts, right? While he's a sitting Senator?
Heavens to Murgatroyd!!
What a field day for the press!
Might as well lock up those Democratic seats for next year!
Check it out:
Republican senators held what one participant called a "passionate" and "spirited" closed-door discussion Wednesday afternoon about how their leaders responded to the sex scandal involving their colleague Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho, CNN has learned.
Apparently, most of the 'pukes were happy with the leaders for trashing Craig, but Specter, Bunning, Enzi, and - get this - Ted Stevens, thought the reaction against Craig was too harsh! Ha! They're gonna fight amongst themselves, which is great. But....Dick Cheney was at the meeting. Hmm. Could that be why the story is on page 10 in my local paper already?
Posted by iamcoyote at September 6, 2007 07:54 AMDon't take it laying down, Larry Craig! Fight the power, Larry! You gotta right! LOL!
What is with all these Mark Foley/Larry Craig Republicans? LOL!
I say, let the Republicans tear each other and their party to shreds. Maybe some idiots will finally start to see the whole family values schtick was only to swindle the rubes' votes.
Posted by Brian Bell at September 6, 2007 08:18 AMWith all the Liberals to the left of me leaping to defend Craig`s pisspot preference for sex in public cans -- not to defend this is apparently intolerant if not outright homophobic -- and those Republicult flying monkeys most confident of their shouting down truth skills, Craig must feel cosier than a slab of fatty pink meat in a sandwich.
Hey, I'll bet that's one thing he hasn't tried ...
NAH. It's clear from his behavior throughout this "ordeal" that he's been at this for years. Everything about him, from the most plausible versions of events leading to his arrest to his haughty press conference (where his indignation at even being questioned is barely subcutaneous) just screams that he's a seasoned sexual predator.
Mitch McConnell's walkback statements have been parsed to death, with the most coy interpretations suggesting that he's pulling back from calls for resignation because McConnell is himself gay.
C`mon, the Gamy Old Pecker party knows full well how long Craig has been at this. They know exactly what he's sitting on, and that the longer this plays the more likely one of his younger and insecure targets is to find the confidence and support to step into the light and fight a US Senator.
Even one from the Rethuggernaut.
Who thinks the GOP will move their convention from the Twin Cities next summer? Like Keith's show discussed last night, imagine all these Republicans flying in and having to use that men's room or at least walking by it.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at September 6, 2007 12:22 PMOMG, Jeff, you're right! How will they maintain the boycott?
