well, Osama hits the nails pretty well on the head for the most part. He has to be incredibly pleased at what's become of our country since 9/11.
Posted by T2 at September 7, 2007 01:55 PMHe looks like shit.
Posted by snark at September 7, 2007 01:57 PMOBL is from Saudi Arabia. His family is from Saudi Arabia. The 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
Why are we in Iraq?
Posted by Slothrop at September 7, 2007 02:02 PMWhy are we in Iraq?
Because if we invaded Saudi Arabia every muslim in the Middle East would be trying to kill us.

*snort* Now, that was funny! In a sad way, of course.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 7, 2007 02:14 PMIs the “Weekend at Binnie’s” in rerun again? Osama Bin Laden has been dead for over five and a half years now: he passed away of natural causes in December, 2001 and is buried in the mountains in southeastern Afghanistan. See www.whatreallyhappened.com for details.
However, the Bush crime family and the complicit corporate US media love propping up the body and trotting our their homemade “Bin Laden videos” whenever they think that they need a little boost in fear mongering with the absurd notion that “the bogey-terraists are gonna git ya…” if you don’t goosestep right along with our own Little Napoleon…

Posted by Ellie at September 7, 2007 02:38 PMSounds like he's pissed y'all/Democrats didn't get his job done for him. Even after getting Democrats elected last year.
Posted by peter at September 7, 2007 03:10 PMMy thought today was that every year, Bush and the Republicans rush to use 9/11 for their purposes. And every year, Osama bin Laden does the same. He's much happier having the foolish and corrupt Bush administration in charge. It would put a real crimp in his plans if we started to intelligently address the reality of terrorism.
Posted by Mary at September 7, 2007 03:13 PMSounds like he's pissed
Haven't seen it yet, but from Josh Marshall's description, he sounds like a right wing blogger. A "9-th tier" right wing blogger - you know, like Malkin and the friends...
But Josh has it right - only under "kicking ass" boy could such a 5th rate hack become the world's biggest bogeyman!
But kudos to petey for the amazing contortions you used trying to get "bin Laden" and "Democrats" in the same sentence. It wasn't really coherent, but amusing nonetheless!
Posted by iamcoyote at September 7, 2007 03:22 PMAmazing how he always seems to release a message just when Bushie needs some support, whether it be political and just before an election or in this case, support for his never ending quagmire.
And how much you wanna bet Bushie will say something like the following...., see Bin laden says he wants us to end the war in Iraq and democrats should end it ...therefore if they dare support ending the war in Iraq, they will be doing what bin Laden wants...and they will enable bin laden and the terrarist... Only I, the great and mighty Dictator Tot in Chief am mature and smart enough to see through bin laden's comments and that if bin laden wants it, then we must do the exact opposite of what he says in order to win.
And for arguments sake as I imagine this is how it may likely play out....all of Bush's responses will go unchallenged by the enabling traditional media. They won't dare challenge this simplistic analysis and and won't use critical thinking skills to ask Bush something like .....but but how do we know bin Laden isn't sneaky and hasn't already figured out how you'll respond (based upon years of mistakes and from previous experience) and don't you think he knows just how moronic you really are (hello you friggin attacked Iraq that had nothing to do with 9/11, you let him go across the border into Pakistan)How can you be certain he is not trying to outsmart you by using reverse psychology dumbass?
Lastly, why is this man still roaming the earth freely and gracing my television and computer screens?
Posted by emal at September 7, 2007 03:36 PMJust like the "December" capture of Saddam Hussein.
The pictures showed the brave American troops dragging a dirty and frail Saddam out of his spiderhole. But behind the capture scene stood date palms: tall, green date palms, all covered with clusters of golden-brown dates ripe and ready to be picked and enjoyed.
The problem was, and people in the middle east reminded Americans, the dates are ripe and ready to be picked in August and early September. By December, there are no dates on the palms.
Most people believe the actual capture of Saddam was 4-to-6 months earlier and the Bush administration delayed the announcement so they could use the event to help boost Bush's job approval numbers.
Fast foward to today and 4 days before the much anticipated assessment (written by the Bush administration) of Gen. Petraeus. Advance word is the assessment will call for no troop reduction. A video message from Saddam is just the icing on the cake.
Posted by Christopher at September 7, 2007 03:39 PMOne question: Bin Laden, where were you in November 2006?
Bin Laden, we could have said back then, "You're fired!"
Now get back to work. We got some terr to catapult, slacker!
Posted by semiot at September 7, 2007 03:41 PMThat's a 4'5" look alike!
Posted by Seven of Six at September 7, 2007 03:41 PMRichard Clark said this morning on Good Morning America that bin Laden's beard might be a fake. Beardless Moslems live in Southeast Asia, and bin Laden might be in hiding there.
Posted by mo2 at September 7, 2007 03:50 PMThe "beard" looks photoshopped.
Posted by Christopher at September 7, 2007 03:53 PMI've heard he's probably somewhere wher the beard would stand out. It's gone and he doesn't want anyone to know him.
Posted by peter at September 7, 2007 03:55 PMI firmly believe that OBL is nothing more than a smear of DNA on some cave wall in Tora-Bora. But this is to good to pass up!
So which one of you TLCers wrote this letter? He hit all the major "progressive" talking points...
->The Democrats were elected to end the war but have not.
-> Anti-Capitalism.
-> Global warming and Kyoto.
-> And on...and on...and on
Oh, this is good humor :)
So, how does it feel for you Leftists to be so in agreement with OBL?
Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 7, 2007 03:59 PMBagley, you are so predictable. Why hasn't your man bagged Osama in six years? Nevermind, we all know the answer.
I guess you'll have to get off the couch, back into the Navy, and go get him yourself.

As I posted:
"I firmly believe that OBL is nothing more than a smear of DNA on some cave wall in Tora-Bora."
But as I also posted:
"[The letter]..this is to good to pass up!"
Whether JBL is alive, long dead, or photoshopped, this still smacks of a Rovian plot. His fingerprints are still all over everything. Bald-headed little fat fart.
Posted by tempus at September 7, 2007 04:16 PMI believe that Bush (I and/or II) assured the Saudi Royal family that no harm would come to Osama. The Saudi Royal family gets money from the bin Laden family.
But I don't mind because I don't think bin Laden was the person most responsible for the 9-11 attacks. I think that honor falls on Dick Cheney's illegal wiretapping that prevented the FBI from keeping Mohammed Atta when they had him. If the wiretaps hadn't been illegal, they could have gotten a warrant for his computers.
There was no desire in the White House to prevent 9-11 and there is no desire to capture bin Laden today.
"I think that honor falls on Dick Cheney's illegal wiretapping that prevented the FBI from keeping Mohammed Atta when they had him."
Huh?
Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 7, 2007 04:22 PMSorry, wrong guy, Zacarias Moussaoui (not Atta).
Posted by mo2 at September 7, 2007 04:37 PMJust take a close look at the latest released image of OBL and compare them with known pictures of him circa 2000. They are obviously not the same man.
America...meet Emmanuel Goldstein. Judge for yourself. Who you gonna believe, the corporate news media or your lyin' eyes?

Hey! Where did everybody go? This story a little to close to home, perhaps?
Posted by And Bagley Was A Friend Of Mine at September 7, 2007 05:22 PMHe looks like a giant vagina waiting for Bush to penetrate...no, no, I apologize. I wouldn't wish that on any vaginaed Bush pussy faced Saudi boy.... I

Posted by at September 7, 2007 05:26 PMbin Laden's beard might be a fake
Got that right, since GW's his beard!
Posted by iamcoyote at September 7, 2007 05:32 PMCan we get Fred Thompson some of the grecian formula Osama bin Laden is using on his beard?
They both look like shit to be honest.
Posted by griffinrider at September 7, 2007 06:18 PMNew Osama Bin Laden Video, Real or Hoax?
It is not likely that Bin Laden would trim his beard, much less dye it black. Something is beginning to stink. Someone isn't doing their homework on Muslims and beards. Osama bin Laden is a strict originalist when dealing with religion and the way it is practiced, therefore, not likely to cut or dye. Question: What would he dye his beard? Makes no sense.
Look at the photos. I say it is not Bin Laden.

Posted by Seven of Six at September 7, 2007 07:46 PMYou guys slay me.
The man is obviously ill. And he would do what he thinks necessary to keep from being caught. Including cutting his beard or dying it.
The benefits to the Bushies of being perceived as having rid the world of bin Laden vastly outway those of going to the trouble of maintaining some charade that he is still alive. They would have no problem creating a new bogeyman to take his place.
And still with the Saddam date palm bs. Jeez.

arg! the STOOPID, it burns! and jj too, better trolls PLEASE
Well, first they ginned up nonexistent terrorist attacks whenever Bush need bolstering. But thanks mostly to Keith Olberman, we caught on to that. And now we have Bin Laden spouting Democratic "talking points?" How could that NOT be a put-up job? But then, as Supreme Leader Cheney knows, nobody's ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people (and our crack news media).

You have been there...Iraq...right?
Right?
