Comments: Hillary Pre-empts Petraeus

"...only political ones..."

And the Democrats and their minions (or is it the reverse) are doing their level best to make sure the "political solution is that the US loses.

The Moveon.org advertisement...

Yeah, yeah, argue all you (Leftists) want: losing the war is your platform. And losing in'08 will be the result.

The Osama talking points...

Hillary is an overly cautious hack. Her fall from grace will be enjoyable viewing.

Bang this through your head: Hillary Clinton will never, ever be president.

Never. By Febraury 5th she'll be an afterthought sitting on a mountain of money.

And your whining is almost as pathetic as her utter lack of courage. Whining isn't going to win you any converts.

But please persist, your rationalizations are an interesting psychological case study.

Lobbyists are people too!

RAM it up your ass! Hillary will be a fine President of the Corporation of America!

Nice post, Jeff, and thanks for the links. I think that until we get public financing for elections, we're just plain stuck with the lobbyists. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

And speaking of lobbyists, I saw ol' Frederick of Hollywood is involved in the Pan Am bombing case.

Ok Jeff, I know you're a Hillary supporter and I'll vote for her if she get the nod. But I am very tired of the inevitability theme. We're, for now, more than 4 months from the first primaries. Let's just keep the discussion on issues, rather than meaningless polls.

And since when is speaking the plain and WELL DOCUMENTED truth overreaching? I expect Republican trolls and flacks to screech when the truth is told, not Democrats. Let's not support the noise machine, please.

And since when is speaking the plain and WELL DOCUMENTED truth overreaching?

Yeah, I did balk at that line, too. DeminNewJ is right about that being a wingnut meme, which Markos handled quite nicely on Hardball! And I'm also not sold on her inevitability. It's still way too early in the game.

The fact that average people will go to the polls and vote for someone that helped start the war in Iraq says more about the apathy and ignorance of those voters than it does Corporate America, the propagandists, or Hillary herself.

The fact that average people will go to the polls and vote for someone that helped start the war in Iraq says more about the apathy and ignorance...

Probably says more about the fact that they are preoccupied with the mundane aspects of their day to day lives than about their apathy or ignorance.

If Hillary stays the course and doesn't buckle to pressure from the DINO Dems and the neocons, she could very well ride this position all the way to the White House.

madam president...get used to it..unless al enters.. it's coming

Jeff, I had to smile---even though I agree with you on this point---when I read you describe the article on lobbying money as fair. What a surprise when I found the article hits Edwards and Obama.

Posted by MarkL at September 11, 2007 06:41 AM

Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker’s presentation yesterday was really a complete disappointment. Both of them were on Fox noise last night selling George Bush talking points. The General lost credibility in my view by failing to even admit the obvious that what is going on in Al Anbar Province has nothing to do with the surge.

The good General and the other Crocker idiot has decided that they are better off aligning themselves with George Bush and are now selling lemons to American people.

Hey all, thanks for the comments. Two things:

1) sorry for bringing up another national poll, I vowed not to do that again, but I felt the favorability issue (Hillary up, Obama down) was noteable and certainly a recent development.

2) and MarkL I did think that was a balanced article, c'mon, they ripped on Hillary in there, too. Anyway, as far as the "everybody takes money from lobbyists" theme, this was the one piece I felt was the fairest.

Oh, and I'm not popular ANYwhere with my feelings about the MoveOn ad. I love MoveOn, but attacking the Gen. at this point seems misplaced. He's just following orders. Of course he's lying, we all knew this was coming....

Anyway, thanks everybody for reading.

Jeff, very well said. You are also right to point to a poll that shows Hillary favorable rating moving up. I see no reason why you should stop doing that.

I love move-on, and your comment is spot on. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism and that is exactly what you did. Keep it up, some of us appreciate the truth.
