Good Gawd, that fat fucking idiot Limbaugh seems to be capable of saying anything. Anything he gets paid for that is. Somebody slip some crystal meth in his usual pill supply. It might just be funny.
Posted by tempus at September 27, 2007 04:36 PMCornyn is in more trouble than he knows, McCaul too. McCaul is in a DeLay rigged district and barely got over 50% in 06. I know lots of hard core Bushies down in TX and they can hardly say his name anymore. The Border Fence was the last straw for lots of TXn's, hispanic and anglo.
Posted by T2 at September 27, 2007 05:26 PMbut that does not mean that those texans will vote dem....especially on the broder issue....
they will not support the current dem's position on illegal immigration....
in fact illegal immigration may turn out to be the ultimate downfall for dems......not the iraq issue...
Well, why can't one of our worthies draw up a "resolution" condemning Limbaugh's hatred of the troops and get it on the floor as fast as Corning's Crap was out there?
Why wasn't it part of the republic-saving MoveOn vote, and if Repubs wouldn't condemn Limbaugh first, then Dems wouldn't condemn MoveOn? Who is a more proper target of "disrespect": an ordinary soldier or a 4 star general?
Posted by euzoius at September 27, 2007 07:30 PMWhy? because If the Dems do this the Repubs won't like them, will accuse them of being political, not supporting the troops, and they will say mean things about them; nothing is worth that price!
Posted by rookman at September 27, 2007 07:53 PMNot only include Mora, Kerry, Cleland but all Veterans and disabled Veterans.
I know a lot of disabled Veterans afraid to speak out publically. If they do, they might get arrested, then lose their monthly stipend.
Posted by Seven of Six at September 27, 2007 08:05 PMWelcome to the future of America.
The right to not be offended is become aramount.
Well have the Senate spending all its time condemning someone or other's free seech.
And well have Articles of Impeachment passed for every administration here on forward! In perpetuity.
Congratulations folks.
It's what you've all been hoping for.
Posted by snark at September 27, 2007 08:13 PMDamn sticky p key!
Posted by snark at September 27, 2007 08:14 PMI believe there's a difference between these two, ones a 527 type organization, the others an entertainer/radio personality. I believe by the large numbers voting against the ad, there's more wrong there than anything RL or SH can say. The most bi-partisan thing to come out of the Congress. They're a uniter, those MoveOn people. They've united people against them.
You don't see, people sending contributions to Rush or Hannity to say certain things, whereas, people do to MoveOn. Big corporate difference.
While it's important to respond to this crap, I wonder if this isn't more coordinated rw distraction. Tit-for-tat is a defensive reaction. As long as we're talking about rush we're not talking about Iraq or Iran - or God knows what else in the cultist cesspool.
For me, the most frustrating thing in all this is that Democrats have had multiple opportunities to go on offense but they completely wimp out. Is it cowardice? Competence?
Then again, I'm also reminded of a Will Rogers quote in the 1930's "I don't belong to any organized political party - I'm a Democrat."

Here, here Jim. They aren't competent, they're sheep.
Posted by peter at September 27, 2007 08:58 PMYou don't see, people sending contributions to Rush or Hannity to say certain things, whereas, people do to MoveOn. Big corporate difference.
Corporate salaries to those that are merchants of hate and lies and have a huge audience vs simple grass roots contributions who had hardly been heard of before. Big difference.
BTW, contributions are up since they ran the ad.
Pretty funny snark. Well, not really, we will end up having a bunch of "Sense of the Senates" just to protect the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.
Steve and Mary, would you mind if I write a short editorial tomorrow, subject to your approval, of course? You know my email address.
Posted by tempus at September 27, 2007 09:44 PMWhy Sure they are, going for a cool million too. But General Petraeus ratings are up. Congress has voted for three measures condeming the ad too. And we're now going to be there into the second term of the next president. "Great" ad, poor results. Best thing that could have happened for this president was that ad. Took a lot of heat off this admin and the Congressmen and women thinking about moderating their support.
Posted by peter at September 27, 2007 10:00 PMeter, you have an incredible ability to annoy people. Get some counseling or something.
Posted by tempus at September 27, 2007 10:10 PMSorry, should be 'Peter'. On Nyquil now. Very Bad...
Posted by tempus at September 27, 2007 10:12 PMGet well, Tempus!
Posted by peter at September 27, 2007 10:22 PMPeter, the more I know of you through your submissions, the more I'm convinced you can recover from your Gooper experience. Please, as I said before, don't disappoint me.
Posted by tempus at September 27, 2007 10:49 PMSo, to Rush Limbaugh and his mentally ill ilk, Pat Tillman must have been a "phony soldier," too.
I'm beginning to suspect that someone slipped some LSD into the Kool-Aid that all Republicans drink.
Republicans just keep getting weirder and weirder...and exponentially more dangerous to our nation's survival as their house of cards continues to crumble due to all the rot...and war-mongering...and war-profiteering...and lying...and outright thieving...especially by all those Republicans who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. HA!!
Well over half of all U.S. citizens recognize real phonies when we seem them...and Republicans, especially those calling themselves Christian, are definitely phonies.
Pat Tillman wasn't a phony. Rush Limbaugh is.
Posted by The Oracle at September 28, 2007 12:45 AM"As long as we're talking about rush we're not talking about Iraq or Iran - or God knows what else in the cultist cesspool."
Exactly. Congress knows it isn't going to get anywhere with ending the war while this administration is still around, so they spend time on a meaningless condemnation of an ad.
Posted by ann at September 28, 2007 04:58 AM"If Cornyn doesn't go after Limbaugh here for one of his own constituents, then he should be made an example of. These tactics won't stop until some GOP political corpses are left on the floor. If the Democrats can't kneecap Cornyn on this, they should go home."
Couldn't agree more. I'm from Massachusetts so I have two Senators and ten Congresscritters who would stand up for this action. All we need is 58 more Senators and 250 more Congresscritters to knuckle the sumbitches.
Not really that hard to find if you call them on their hypocrisy.
Posted by goalkeeper at September 28, 2007 06:30 AMpants-pissing peter: "They're a uniter, those MoveOn people. They've united people against them."
but they didn't unite people for Bush's quagmire, the American people have MOVED ON from Bush's lies
Limbaugh? amazing what tertiary syphilis will do to a person
