Comments: Good Deeds Done Well

hi para! I have nothing to add but *mwah*!

DeminNewJ said something on the last Open Thread, which is extremely important:

"Keeping the 'net free is our highest priority. It's our only hope."

With the takeover of our media, we had better be very vigilant in seeing that the Internet remains open and free. The Internet is the only means by which we can get the truth, organize, and fight the far Right. It is apparent to me that the biggest threat to those who want control is the freedom of the Internet.

Sorry, it's probably too late. Who knows what's getting filtered where. And I'll bet you a nickel that all of TLC is crunching through a computer algorithm as we speak.

paradox - hate to say this, but of late you seem to be drinking some of that kool aid. The FP writers at dKos are some of the worst on so-called liberal blogs. (That's why many of us almost never read the FP) You, Mary and Steve, my friend, are far superior writers than 90% of what has appeared on the dKos FP since Steve and billmon left. To date, replacing GOP thugs and nutcases with Blue Dawgs and DLCers (like Casey) has changed NOTHING. Not legislatively and not the national dialogue. The Senate condemnation of MoveOn and the ease with which the Kyl-Lieberman POS attack Iran authorization confirms that NOTHING has changed (although one could read it to indicate that things might have gotten worse).

In the long run, the repercussions of electing non-progessives may be even worse. Look at Sherrod Brown who was progressive when he was in the House, ran for the Senate as a progressive and creamed a sitting GOP SEN in the election and what do we see now from him? Another one in the conservative Reid club.

Who funds what is very important. billmon knew what he was talking about when he forewarned of this in his Op-Ed a few years ago. As he's no longer able to share his voice with those of us not ready to make nice with the corporate wing of the DEM Party, my sanity is dependent on reading Silber, Floyd and IOZ. It's getting more difficult for me to ignore that many others are bought and bossed.

I'm just starting to understand how much free media time those dipshit Republicans have earned for MoveOn.org by making such a fuss over that Petreaus ad.

While Paradox is pointing out good deed done well, let me get in on fun. Our military has just recorded its lowest death toll in 14 months despite having 30,000 more targets there; Great job General Petraeus. As the WashPost reports today, "More than 30,000 tribal members in Iraq have come forward to work with U.S. and Iraqi forces over the past six months, a phenomenon that is spreading beyond Anbar province to Baghdad and other regions of the country." Again great job General Petraeus. Lets share these accolades with the current US Senate that placed this great general in this mission with a unanimous vote earlier this year. Great insight senators for this approval. And lastly to our commander in chief, what a great appointment this was, nice to see something positive finally happen.

Then there's France and Germany joining America with its stand on Iran nukes. Seems the world is finally coming around and embracing what our president's been saying for a while. Better late than never.

And finally let me also give accolades to Eli Pariser and his well crafted ad against General Petraeus. He's done well in increasing the publics awareness of who this person is and the public has liked what they've seen. His approval has been soaring since then. Great job Eli, money well spent. We Republicans couldn't have asked for anything better. Uniting ours when Democrats were just starting to peel our support for the war off. What timing. Thanks a bunch for extending our war effort until the new president is sworn in and then some. Yeah folks, money well spent.

Good Gawd, Peter, you are beyond belief. Who is paying you to write such crap? If you're sane you can't honestly believe any of it.

Republicans will continue stealing elections!

There, fixed that for you. That'll be $100,000,000. In Blackwater cash.

Awww.... poor diddums... you lost, and don't have to fortitude to accept it. "We was ROBBED! ROBBED, I TELL YA!". Yeah, sure you were... LOSER!

Paradox said:
"I gave Markos Moulitsas a hard time when he announced his Fellowship program, telling him no matter how he rationalized it opening the banner space at Daily Kos to finance the program was still taking money from The Man."

Yeah, stick it to the man! You're so alternative! I must say, I'm impressed. I bet you wear a Che tee-shirt.

I remember those Daily Kos embiciles... the ones who were lead along by a Bush hating blogger claiming to be a member of the US military in Iraq... they were being fed what they wanted to hear, and the whole lot of them looked like the idiots that they are.

Oh, and roof said something sensible, although I think he's overestimating your influence:
"As long as MOVEON and Crazy LEFT BLOGS like this exist, Republicans will continue winning elections!!!!!"

Goooooooooo mooooooonnnnnnnbats!

P.S. Come on, Steve, ban me, I dare ya!
