Comments: Waiting for Everyday Domestic Political Violence

Harassment and intimidation is then name of the game and as you so rightly point out, the right wing facists are more than happy to do the dirty work. Do you think the next family is going to think twice about speaking up for a Dem policy or against a Republican one? Damn right they are.

I have a friend involved in NoCal Dem politics and he was heading up a petition to protect land from developers. The developer group pulled out all the stops, harassed the people signing up people for the petition, circulated a phoney petition to try and confuse people AND sent my friend letters saying they were going to seek legal action against my friend, simply for participating in democracy. My friend was worried about his family and confessed to me that he had doubts whether it was worth it or not, but in the end he decided that it was worth it because someone had to stand up to these facist assholes. But you can see the effect the intimidation has on even our most courageous fighters. We have to stand up to these bullies and push back. So thank you Paradox for getting this story out to us.

If the democrats win the White House next year, we'd better be prepared as a country for an onslaught of domestic terrorism. All those vigilante minutemen groups, crazy loners, and radical churches have been relatively quiet during the Bush administration, but they haven't gone away. And the constant drumbeat of fear has turned a disturbingly large segment of America into thugs.

For now, most of them are just using their voices. But soon it will change. Bin Laden has done his work well.

I don't think there is really much question that increased conservative-initiated violence is in our future. It would be quite remarkable if it were not. That's the logic that this "movement" and its rhetoric are inevitably leading towards.

And how many Repub politicians lined up to publicly condemn this Wingnut "focus on the (uninsured) family?" None? Right.

We have already see right-wing violence: the "white collar" mob that blocked one of the recounts in Florida in 2000

The Riech Wing is only interested in those who are brain dead and an unborn fetus. HYPOCRITS!

Here's another close encounter with the GOP faithful that happened in Philly recently.
