Comments: Abu Gets A Lawyer

What that former AG needs is a little waterboarding, in a remote country. You know, the same treatment he authorized for so many others, without a qualm.

The president, Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates all warned against passing the resolution.

"We all deeply regret the tragic suffering of the Armenian people that began in 1915. This resolution is not the right response to those historic mass killings," Bush said at the White House.

Rice and Gates said Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. military officer in Iraq; U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker; and Adm. William Fallon, head of the U.S. Central Command, also raised concerns about the resolution.

Gates said good relations with Turkey are vital because 70 percent of the air cargo intended for U.S. forces in Iraq and 30 percent of the fuel consumed by those forces flies through Turkey.

U.S. commanders, Gates said, "believe clearly that access to airfields and roads and so on in Turkey would very much be put at risk if this resolution passes and the Turks react as strongly as we believe they will."

Ok, now I'm fucking mad. Will these assholes, (Bush, Rice, Gates, Cheney) admit to anything? Not in their or our lives. I'm an atheist, but they are going straight to hell.

hi tempus. That's a pattern in peace and justice for all 'mercan attitude: if you fuck your own people but are willing to hand over resources to US, you can be our friend and we forgive all (eg. Rummy shaking Saddam's hand).....if you won't spread your resources our way, woe betide you (shock and awe upon Iraq - their citizens be damned and off with his head).

Hi Sharon, good to see you post again. And you are quite right in your evaluation of US policy. But as usual, they only care about a country if it supports US policy. To quote the Beatles "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." That translates to not much love these days.
