Comments: Stumbling Into Another Debacle

I like this post because let's stop saying Bush, ridiculous braindead drunken monkey in a suit, let's call this shit we're in what it is, Cheney.

Steve how do you mix the kool aid you are drinking?

Posted by Dale Gross at October 14, 2007 02:18 PM

When Bill Kristol is not only denied a green room and a micophone, but is run out of town on a rail, tarred and feathered with a righteous mob in pursuit, maybe I'll have some hope.

Posted by Sharkbabe at October 14, 2007 03:00 PM

That's not kool aid Steve's drinking. Might be a tea made from clary, though, an herbal seed reputed to clear obstructions and irritations from the eyes. Heh, you know, the "obstruction" being the Kyle-Lieberman amendment. Although, rather than a tea, most often clary seed was used by putting the seed directly in the eye, the theory being that it became gummy and any foreign object got caught up in the goo. Steve's right to look for the hidden agenda in Kyle-Liberman.

Posted by Julie at October 14, 2007 03:06 PM

Perhaps I should have put "foreign object" in quotation marks.

The system is farked, folks, let's get real.

Gas lines a-comin' ... wait two hours for $10/gal, and be grateful. It's the new Cheney Opportunity America. Don't like it? Shut the fuck up. What, you love Iran wanting to nuke and destroy our malls? Liberal terrorist fuckah, we know where you live.

Sorry but this is where we are.

Posted by Sharkbabe at October 14, 2007 03:19 PM

This 'strike' that nobody offically said happened seems to have brought the NKoreans to the table wanting to get away from all things nuke. Y'all should be rejoicing, we get NK to do a "Kadafy" without firing a shot. Just let the Israeli's do a little magic and presto chango, the NK's give up. Maybe the Syrians come to their senses too. It's still too early.

The Palast Hypothesis

Postulates Saudi Arabia is not interested in rivals of the Shia persuasion and therefore would encourage and support anything that divided and conquered them.
The Oil Companies are in it to control the price of oil with their accomplices the Saudis.
The NeoCons want to hurt the most "threatening" Arabs (Shia--Iraq and Iran, Syria is 70% Shia as well and allied with Iran) first, and may get the US in strategic control of Iraqi oil forever.
Cheney is interested in patronizing the Oil Giants and whomever they favor. Bush is a cutout for Cheney and Big Oil.
Permanent occupation of Iraq is in Cheney-Oil's interests both for price control long-term and short-term profits at no cost the Big Oil.

So why wouldn't Cheney think of Israel's strike of Syria as a dry-run?

Posted by gtash at October 14, 2007 05:35 PM

"the lack of a Syrian response." They were all caught up with "the best antiaircraft system money can buy" that the Russians supplied them with. They were completely astonished at not knowing the Israeli aircraft were over their country for that long. The strike at Dayr Az Zawr was no easy place to be over. Located on the Euphrates River about 70 miles away from Husaybah, Iraq. My reading has it that the WH wouldn't give the ok without confirmation on the ground. The Israeli's landed, took samples and maybe a few people who shouldn't be there, took off and then had the place bombed after WH approval. The Syrians didn't know anything was afoot until one of their fighters on patrol happened by and fired on the Israeli planes as they were leaving.

None of these people want to acknowledge what happened here. The Israeli's won't, cause that would force the other countries of the region to slap their hand officially. Syria won't cause they're not suppose to have this stuff and are completely embarased about this incedent. And as you saw, the WH will not answer ANY questions about this venture. None of the other countries of the region like Syria and Asaad too much. They'd like someone to knock him down some.

Lastly, the Iranians were there and witnessed what occured. They have the very same Russian provided AA systems that the Israeli's just overcame like nothing. The Iranians now know that they're no match for America. They were counting on early detection to close all the doors of their facilities to prevent destruction. They now know they will have no warning. All three of these bad actors had the best Russia had and found it lacking. Arms sales from Russia were severly impacted by this raid and its results.

Also another event happened nearby, several soldiers/techs were killed in a accident while trying to load some chem/bio warfare agents onto a SCUD type rocket.

It seems to me that any conclusion that Syria did not retaliate for the bombing of its site as being premature. Syria may be aware that the bombing might have been a provocation to do just that -- an immediate response, and Syria is not stupid and pick a fight with Israel on terms that would be suicidal to Syria. The American idea that response has to be overt and hard is not operational in other cultures. Russia is an example of a country that will respond in a methodical and with long term view. I suspect that Syria will use more underhanded methods to get back at Israel.

Wow, check out the a collection of pissy-mouthed petty sourballs.

The Nobel Peace Prize isn't one of their Roller Skating Chimp's "Medals of Freedom" he gives lackeys when they fall on their swords to cover up yet another one of his acts of gross incompetence.

The world loves President in Exile Al Gore. They hate George Bush. They love Bill Clinton.

And that is one massive shit sandwich the Republicult has to choke down oh, let's see ... FOREVER. Heh heh.

Gawd, that pan across those sour curdled faces (in the C&L vid linked above) was like a day at the douchebag museum, when vinegar and water was grandmama's douche of choice.

STUMBLING?

I don't think so. They are salivating at the prospect of a wider war. They just haven't figured out what bait will work on Iran. Can't understand why Saddam didn't and Iran hasn't taken the bait like Israel did last year. Like Iraq, they are well aware of the fact that they cannot stopped us and our client Israel if we choose to attack. So, they wait and prepare as Hezbollah did and pray that it will be enough.

Peter, I've being greatly missing Owsley's acid since 1967. Could you tell me where you get your's from these days? It's obviously just as potent.

Posted by tempus at October 14, 2007 07:11 PM

Peter, if only your interpretation was true.

In fact, I have the utmost doubts that anything nuclear or planned to be nuclear in the future was hit. Maybe Israel thought that's what they were hitting, but I don't think it was.

Here's one reason why not. This site is 70 miles from Iraq, Iraq occupied by the U.S. Who here believes Syria is so stupid as to build a nuclear reactor 70 miles from the border of a U.S.-occupied country?

Another reason why not -- since this happened we've heard unnamed intelligence sources proclaiming a dirty bomb, a nuclear device and now a planned nuclear reactor that was just being built. So, which is it?

If any of these things were what was hit, why wouldn't Syria strike back or at least attempt to do so? It makes no sense.

I think the Israelis hit something relatively worthless, like an old missile storage depot or something, or nothing at all. And it may have shown the Syrians and the Iranians the Russian AA systems weren't all that and that's about it.

The rest of it is rumor and innuendo from Cheney's crew to try to derail the North Korean talks and to try to start a war with Iran. I think that's the real story here: Out-of-control vice president tries to push country into war!

Posted by Brian Bell at October 14, 2007 08:58 PM

Syria, strike back, no way. No they want to quiet this event down. Don't want to talk about it, they're scared shitless right now. They thought so highly of their air defenses from Russia and now they know the Israeli's can go right through it without them knowing anythings up. The Iranians in turn know the same thing.

N Korea was there, they folded their tents quite fast after this strike. "Come in Americans and take this apart." They didn't ask for the UN or China or Japan. They came to us, after all these years, they came to us. With George W. Bush still our president, they came to us. What's the hurry now in N Korea? What did President Bush do or say to prompt them to come to us?

Posted by peter at October 14, 2007 09:40 PM

What did Nancy Pelosi know and when did she know it? Count on it, I am going to be asking myself that question a LOT from now on, looking all the way back to before 9/11, and then to all her votes since then.

Posted by Julie at October 14, 2007 09:42 PM

Bill Kristol is just another neo-con psychopath lusting for war with Iran.

I see pants-pissing peter is back. Bush gave North Korea a better deal than they got under Clinton. Wonder what Putin thinks when he meets the Chimp?

Posted by Gay Veteran at October 15, 2007 06:00 AM

Petr's been hitting the right wing internet shit troughs pretty hard, and given his delusional nature it has a disquieting effect on him. Probabably more frequent BMs as well. Praise Bush!

The north korea deal has been proceeeding along since the framework that was announced 6 months ago. Leave it to Tom Clancy fans to think a mysterious air strike in Syria changed everything.

And if peter's drunken bloviating were true, we'd see a pretty quick change of tone from Teheran, right, seeing as how they have absolutely no defenses against a US air assault, according to Burger Barn lunch-shift manager peter. I'm sure we'll see some real policy changes coming soon from that sector.

Posted by euzoius at October 15, 2007 07:14 AM

Thank you, euzoius, for telling Peter what's what on N. Korea. Right on.

Peter: "...What's the hurry now in N Korea?...."

ROTFLMAO!

Peter, what you just saw following whatever happened in Syria are the Cheney-run elements of the administration trying to wreck a deal the rest of the administration cut following a couple years worth of diplomacy so ill-run that it saw N. Korea actually detonate a nuke, you idiot.

As for the rest of it, Peter, where's the properly sourced story that explains exactly what happened, not the 2nd-hand, anonymously sourced b.s. "stories" that change day to day about what was hit? [sarcasm]Yeah, Iran's real scared, Bushie's got them quaking in their boots.[/sarcasm] Well, not really, but that's what you right-wing nutjobs want to see, isn't it? You people are seriously disconnected from reality. Here are some hard truths you folks need to face up to:

Posted by peter at October 15, 2007 04:26 PM

Okay, Peter, and what are those articles supposed to prove?

When Kennedy took the world to the brink, he laid out his hand on the floor of the UN, with Adlai Stevenson showing the world what the U.S. knew.

With Bush and Cheney and Iraq, they send out their Powell to humiliate himself and saturate the airwaves and papers with unproven allegations.

This time around, they're not even bothering to get on TV or in the papers stating their own lies. They're having anonymous sources do their lying for them.

I reiterate, I doubt anything nuclear related was hit, anything at all. If it did, where is a source? A real source? Not unvalidated questions or anonymous sources.

Learn to read critically, Peter. These fuckers lied us into Iraq, don't let it happen again with more lies.

Posted by Brian Bell at October 16, 2007 07:32 AM

Brian, Uzi Mahnaimi and Sarah Baxter seem to be the main go-to writers for this kind of propaganda. Ol' Uzi has been on a "bomb Iran" kick for ages - he's comparable to Alexis Debat the disgraced fake interview dude, and Sarah Baxter is a tabloid writer. Not credible sources, really, you'll find that most hyperventilating "we're all gonna die 'cos Bush is gonna invade Iran" shit comes from those two. What's funny is petey's pals on the right have spent a lot of bytes trashing this Uzi guy already, now petey's using him as a source?

Posted by iamcoyote at October 16, 2007 07:55 AM

Brian Bell, thanks very much for undertaking the chore of looking through those "articles" so no one else has to. I appreciate it.

What's so funny is that peeter apparently thought such shit would be dispositive and show how truly "informed" he is.

What's going on in today's world is that the "media" is becoming like peter's fast food Burger Barn---Have it YOUR way! You like lies about Syria having a nuclear weapon from North Korea? Here it is! Do you want Israeli heroes on the ground looking through the fries? Here ya go!

News as a "consumer" product, the nitwit Right "selects" the type of "news" they want to consume. That's why our democracy is doomed.
