Comments: A Failed War

Over at Firedoglake, LooseheadProp is reporting that she just came from a luncheon where Hillary was the speaker and announced to the group that she would end the war upon taking office....

Dems simply refuse to say that Cheney/Bushco have literally blown the War on Terra and that we are not safer.

Hillary goes so far as to say we ARE safer!

If one can't see these Bushco polices have utterly failed, what CAN one see?

The dirty little "secret" for all to see is that Bush and Osama NEED each other.

TNR = Scott Thomas Beauchamp

Both are phonies.

The upcoming Israeli/palestinian summit ought to be a laugh riot, with the smilin' incompetent Condo handing out the peanuts and cokes.

Saw a clip of her tonight saying that "America is a big country and expects there will be progress....." Seriously.

God, what a simpleton dope. Yeah, there will be a lot accomplished on the "two state solution" after we aided our lil' buddy Israel in rejecting the duly elected Hamas government and fomenting the current Palestinian civil war. Jeebus, what idiocy....

Good article by Bergen, thanks for the link as always, TLC.

Most interesting to me in the article was confirmation that the CIA "commander" at Tora Bora DID request in early December 2001 a battalion of army rangers to be deployed at Tora Bora to close off the al qaeda escape routes specifically because he doubted the reliability of the warlords and their troops.

The pentagon denied the request for reasons that "have never been fully clarified", according to Bergen. I'll bet. How could you explain why you denied deployement of a single battalion of US troops when the CIA commander on the ground thought it might allow us to capture bin ladin?

Again, what in the world would Cheney and von Rumsfeld have said to get us into Iraq had Osmama been dead or under the waterboard in Guantanamo in late 2001? How bout some hearings on that little operational "failure", Dems?

Oh, never mind, it's not like anyone would want to know WHY Bushco didn't send any ground forces into the only battle where there was a substantial likelihood Osama was present....which presence was confirmed by intelligence only months later. And whose capture would have meant the end of the argument used to invade Iraq (which had been on Bushco's "to do" list since they came into office).

What a country.

Pardon me but does anyone see Peter Bergen needs Osama too. He loses his only purpose for reporting, or his big ticket to the majors. He's been competent until now. Just wondering, what's his purpose for this article?

sorry pants-pissing peter, but Peter Bergen isn't the one responsible for letting our troops die in Iraq while borrowing $trillions from the Chinese to pay for the war (while New Orleans STILL hasn't been rebuilt)

Pants-pisser, that must be one of your most lame-o, cretinous comments ever. Yeah, the nation's journalists "need" Osama.

"[Bergen's] been competent until now"---meaning what, he's satisfied your prejudices, you in-bred retard? His "purpose"? To inform literate readers of Bushco's utter incompetence in the War of Terra, duh.

Now get offline---some customer is unhappy with his triple-meatsa burger (with cheese) and you'll have to deal with it.
