Comments: Putin Says No Sanctions Against Iran

Putin looked into Bush's eyes....and saw a sucker and a fool.

I think the Iran issue should be resolved in hand-to-hand combat between cheney and Putin.

Do you think cheney would apply for a deferrment?

We shall see what the Europeans do. These sanctions are aimed at Iran's international weapons procurements, as I argue in the earlier thread.

The goal is to start degrading Iran's defenses. The decision to attack at some point has been made.

Congress? Hello....Hello.....? Anyone there? Some unnamed branch of government might want to add some language mandating prior Congressional authorization before commencing a strategic air campaign against Iran into that latest "Supplemental"---you know, the one with the buried funding request for outfitting the flyboys with even larger bunker busters?

The sanctions are brilliant. They put on sanctions and the price of crude goes up and Iran makes even more money. You need to read the piece on Raw Story about Putin and Khamenei. It's very enlightening.
