Little respect as I have for Andrew Sullivan that was a great piece of writing.

Great writing? Not so sure about that...but I'm a bit of a stickler for subject/verb agreement. Still, he does make a good point that our foreign policy could very well be based on the scary scenarios elicited from tortured prisoners. But this passage made me cringe:

On 9/11, Cheney immediately thought of the worst possible scenario: What if this had been done with WMDs? It has haunted him ever since - for good and even noble reasons. This panic led him immediately to think of Saddam.

"Good and noble reasons?" Cheney's (implied) panic for America's safety made him think of Saddam? Riiiight. 'Course Richard Clarke's book confirms that they immediately thought of Saddam; Bush took Clarke aside the next day and told him to look into Iraq, even as it was becoming clear that it was bin Laden.

Sully's trying to cover his ass for being a war supporter all these years, but he still can't bring himself to say that Cheney's motives were purely dictatorial.

Let's insure adults too...and screw insurance companies profits: they've been fucking with us for too damned long!

Jesus. WHAT. A. FUCKING. CROCK.

Bush, putty in Cheney's hands, never wanted torture

Stop, you're killin me. Oh yeah, I forgot – torture happens when you're "cowardly and lazy" and "incurious" and "in denial." A history of psychopathy and sadism all the way back to childhood have nothing to do with it.

Sorry Sully, you're about six years late and half a trillion short. Not to mention still stunningly clueless about the true nature of this bloodthirsty junta, its leader (Cheney) and its aims.

But thanks for the silent prayers. It's probably more than Reid and Pelosi bother to do.

reading Sullivan is very frustrating, sometimes he is really good and sometimes he is simply delutional

Boy, Sullivan sure has changed his tune. Let's see if he what he's learned over the last 6-and-a-half years sticks with him.

Can YOUR prayers offset the religious right's "invade Iran and bring on the rapture" boxed set of prayers coming to a Walmart near you just in time for Christmas?

I had to scratch my head when CNN interviewed that nice Christain lady in front of her untouched house in the middle of a burned out neighborhood.

"I feel kind of sorry for my neighbors, but God was looking out for us."

Pull up the ladder, Jack.
