How can she make that last argument Steve without talking about oil, oil dependency and the huge land grab by the neocons and the Bush administration who have no intention of leaving Iraq, regardless of speculated reduced violence?
She has to address whether ar not it our our intention as a country to remain in Iraq and pull the strings polictically of our new protectorate.
the only argument she needs to hammer is a simple one: Rudy = Bush. She doesn't need to spar with guys running 20+% behind her in the Dem race. It's Rudy = Bush, stupid.
Posted by T2 at October 30, 2007 01:08 PMThe last seven years have shown us what happens when Republicans convince you to vote against your interests for the more likeable candidate.
Well that seems an admission that she's not likable, so I wouldn't say that.
I think she has to be careful not to come across as condescending. When other candidates challenge her, I've seen her give a wry smile and a "oh isn't that cute" kind of look, and I think she needs to avoid that.
She's way ahead nationally, but still in a dead heat in Iowa right? And Rudy is way behind in Iowa, but ahead nationally. It's still a wide open race as far as I'm concerned.
Posted by CG at October 30, 2007 01:15 PMWe hear from both sides that Edwards and Obama need to hammer Senator Clinton ad nauseum because she's in the lead. That makes no sense to me but in view of this common mantra, it's now time with Clinton and Obama reportedly tied in Iowa, for Obama to get beat up, too.
We have a lot of worried men out there in addition to Prissy Matthews obsessing over a female president. Bring 'em on.
And thanks, Steve, for the post.
Posted by Sally at October 30, 2007 01:18 PMI agree with Ken Camp. The Iraq invasion is the overiding issue in this election. If a candidate is unwilling to commit to stopping this cancer immediately, they are looking after the best interest of the U.S. and not fit to be president.
The sane country should want to know where these candidates stand on rapidly ending this nithtmare.
Don't let the corporate media side track us. Iran has already taken the focus off of this disaster.
Posted by smooth at October 30, 2007 01:32 PMWell, with any luck Obama will still be reeling from the McClurkin fiasco and will get knocked off the podium tonight.
