let me get this straight...
rudy blasts ron paul for talking about rather logically our failed responsibilities leading up to 9-11, while bending over to get pat robertson's endorsement, a man who blamed new york for getting the towers destroyed. he gets a pass on the hypocrisy? again, what liberal media?
"We have at most 5 weeks to make sure Congress is looking out for us and not the media monsters."
Sure. Right away. Pronto. I'm on it.
I know that Congress will listen and do what the bottomfeeders want.
Seems some of Ron Paul's money is coming from stollen credit card numbers in $5.00 increments from oversees IP's. He's having to refund them.
LAUGH FOR THURSDAY:
President Bush held a joint press conference with French President Nicholas Sarkozy. A reporter asked Bush where he stood "on Iraq and your domestic debate on Iraq," and whether he had a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops. In response, Bush insisted that "freedom's happening" and Iraq isn't in a "quagmire":
I don't -- you know quagmire is an interesting word. If you lived in Iraq and had lived under a tyranny, you'd be saying: "God, I love freedom."
Then why are thousands and thousands fleeing Iraq? Perhaps they just can't handle all that freedom.
Posted by Judith at November 8, 2007 04:10 AMThe House approved the bill granting protections against discrimination in the workplace for homosexuals. Supporters feel this is the most important civil rights legislation since the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Watch the GOP heads spin on this one.
Oh, and remember Giuliani's best friend Kerik? He is expected to be indicted tomorrow for a little tax problem.
Posted by Judith at November 8, 2007 05:00 AMAs I suspected, Bill never said that Hillary was being swiftboated. I had a feeling, since none of the news stories used the entire quote, and I couldn't find an entire transcript yesterday. Why people keep falling for this shit, I'll never know.
Posted by iamcoyote at November 8, 2007 05:25 AMJudith, if it passes, watch Bush veto it, anyway.
Coyote, when it comes to the Clintons and newspapers, we almost have to check with the Hillary campaign to get the actual transcript. I've long ago given up checking newspapers for sources regarding the Clintons. Good catch.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 8, 2007 06:16 AMAnthony, according to Pat, we need to also check with abortion doctors, lesbians, People For The American Way and the ACLU, since he went along with Jerry Falwell's interpretatiion of who was to blame for 9/11.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 8, 2007 06:19 AMnew polls show the Hillary vs. Rudy=Bush contest a toss up, and this has been relatively constant for a few weeks. Jeff Dinelli and Steve...at what point do you Hillary boosters think Hillary will start putting Rudy in the hamper? After a few primary wins? After the general public gets more familiar with Rudy=Bush? Or are you now saying it's worth risking another eight years of GOP presidency in order to go along with the Dem hierarchy? Is there no alternative? If, six months from now the HIllary/Rudy race is still a toss up, within the GOP cheat range of 2%, what the hell are we going to do?
Posted by T2 at November 8, 2007 06:26 AMIf General Mushy had only consolidated the media, he wouldn't have had to shut it down.
MLM,Inc.(Murdock Lockstep Media, Inc.) has a nice ring to it.
Posted by TIKI AL at November 8, 2007 08:06 AMWhat do you know, the Senate overturned the veto on the water bill.
A fookin' water bill. Can't help sick poor kids, but the GOP manages to get it up for water projects. It might be interesting to see where the money's going, eh?
Posted by iamcoyote at November 8, 2007 09:26 AMT2, though I defend her as our best hope amoung the current candidates to beat R/B (Rudy=Bush, I love it), I'm not a Hillary supporter. I haven't endorsed anyone yet. I applied to cover her campaign mainly because I knew it would be the most entertaining. I haven't been wrong there.
I am completely scared to death of a scenario wherein the Dems nominate her and the anti-Hillary backlash is just too overwhelming to fight. The last two elections have been devastating and literally knocked the wind out of me but if the anti-Hill forces are so powerful and the vote is within the margin of error so the Republicans can steal another state like Florida and Ohio, we can kiss this country as we've known it goodbye. In fact, I'm not ready to give up on my 2005 theory that Bush/Kerry was the last one we'll ever be able to vote on.
To answer your question, though, the campaign right now is concentrating on nothing besides Iowa. As we've seen, national polls can change like the wind if Iowa goes to Obama, which could easily happen if he can actually convince his young base to go attend a caucus. Edwards has lived there for years, but I think he's blowing it with this negative campaigning, Iowans really don't like this kind of stuff. So it's not time yet to fully go after R/B. Anyway, I wouldn't count out Mitt or McOld on that side yet.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 8, 2007 11:40 AMIf you want to go experience the beauty of Yellowstone National Park you should do it before it blows up.
Interesting date spread for the previous eruptions.
2,000,000 years ago.
1,300,000 years ago. (700,000 after previous eruption)
642,000 years ago. (658, 000 after the previous eruption)
Seems like, on a geologic timeframe we're just about due.
I'd take my chances though. It's definitely worth "the risk".
