Comments: Reid: No More Rubber Stamps

as I said in an earlier post, Bush could derail the Dems by just signing the bill. The Pentagon is already starting a drawdown and plans to continue it into 2008. So what the Dems are demanding, the Pentagon has already started. Bush could claim a Surge Victory and leave the Dems sucking air.

T2, Yikes!

If it doesn't work as Reid planned, maybe he can write a sternly worded letter.

Like I said elsewhere,

DON'T NOBODY HOLD YER BREATH!! Except for Toby and peter and their worthless ilk.

Sign of the times, Duckman, these announcements don't even my a ripple in my pond anymore. Like the supposed Iran attack, I'll believe it when I see it.

What Iamcoyote said. It's not what they say, it's what they do that counts. To date, they have done nothing, as Sharkbabe pointed out. Tell me another one.

"We've heard such talk before, and seen the cave-ins from the Blue Dog Democrats..."

The "Blue-Dog Democrats", more commonly known as the DLC, do not 'cave' on issues like funding for the illegal war in Iraq. They SUPPORT it.

They supported starting it in 2003.
They supported the continuation in 2004.
They supported the continuation in 2005.
They supported the continuation in 2006.
They supported the continuation in 2007.

If they do happen to choose to use 2008 as an opportunity to GRANDSTAND in the public-eye by acting as if they are some sort of 'opposition-party', it will be nothing more than an election year political stunt. But let's not make it out like any of their previous votes were 'caving'. It was CONVICTION on their part: CONVICTION to support an immoral, illegal, unethical military escapade. An escapade that could have been stopped at any point since the Democrats took leadership in 2006. The fact that the war was perpetuated after that was a CHOICE - not incompetence.

At this point I'm resigned to the fact that we'll be in Iraq until 2009 and Democrats will continue to run scared from a 24% approval rating because he might say something mean about them.

If by some miraculous change of fortune Pelosi, Reid, et al suddenly decide to grow a pair and actually stand up to Bush. I will be more surprised than if my Cincinnati Bengals make it to the Super Bowl this year.

jebus, Reid is such a weenie. Maybe the Dems can dig up LBJ for majority leader.

paging Charlie Brown, your football awaits you

Tampa Student, well said. "Opposition Party?" What's that?

Posted by Judith at November 14, 2007 05:30 AM

Weak. How many times is Congress going to go through this?

"I'm not gonna give you your allowance until you promise to walk the dog!!"

"Okay I promise! I mean it this time!"

"You MEAN it?"

"I mean it!!"

"Okay, here you go."

The next day, the dog pisses in the corner.

Again.

MV, how right your are. Past actions are a good indicator of future actions, as they say. Congress hasn't learned this yet. Impeachment was and is the only answer, and that was never on the table, thanks to the Democrats.

Impeachment was and is the only answer, and that was never on the table, thanks to the Democrats.

Dennis Kucinich brought it to the table. But the Democrats won't let him sit at the adult table.
