No mention of the Abrams 11 gallons to the mile Battle Tank? How much gas is being used in these wars, and why don't we hear about it?
Internet rebels? Sounds good. We can forge our own super-weapons from old laptops.
Posted by TIKI AL at November 17, 2007 05:52 AMALERT! There's a troll aboard.
Hear, hear, Paradox. You have just expressed my feelings completely. To date, I have no idea what any of them stand for. Your can forget about wishing for a leader. There's not one in the group.
Posted by Judith at November 17, 2007 06:54 AMWe are the leaders our hearts cry for.
The simplicity, eloquence, and power of this post are proof.

What kind of walking shoes do you wear. What make is your bicycle?
"...that a Democratic candidate will use it as a core principle..."
Democrat = principled???
Posted by Bagley at November 17, 2007 07:22 AMSharkbabe, how right you are.
Baggy, it's too early for you. Go back to bed.
Posted by Judith at November 17, 2007 07:40 AMBagley, do you think the people of our nation and the world face serious problems? Do you have children or other loved ones you care about?
Do you have opinions/thoughts on any substantive points of what the post said? Why not argue these things then?
Posted by Sharkbabe at November 17, 2007 07:44 AMSharkbabe, mutual love for this post. I don't wanna whip out my French poetry again that I used in my Kucinich endorsement, but I don't have to. Paradox has spoken for me. Stranger in a Strange Land. My primary vote will be cast for Kucinich because he does hate the Patriot Act, he does speak for energy alternatives and he does speak against unilateralism and preemptive strikes against other nations.
He speaks our language, and though he won't be the nominee, my vote will be cast for our principles, our hopes for a better future, our agenda.
Thanks Paradox, once again you've made me feel a little less lonely.

DITTO. Just when I think I am screaming silently in the night alone, a Paradox post puts my mind at ease. Thanks Paradox
Posted by Judith at November 17, 2007 09:14 AMI seem to remember a certain Democrat last year talking about gas prices going up and a way to prevent it, "Democrats have a plan to lower gas prices…join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now."(04/19/2006) Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Well, the people did and our gas prices are even higher. So much for that, more great Democratic leadersheep.
And your quote, Paradox, seems this president ran into Democratic Rep. John Dingell from MI's 15th District. So much for CAFE reform. Not going to happen unless every American has to feels the pain.
Posted by peter at November 17, 2007 11:48 AMYour second and third items, paradox, are easily achievable. All that is needed is a personal pledge in the Inaugural speech on no war for lies; likewise phone spying, although a piece of legislation to go with that one would be assuring.
As for the 50 mph car, I have to disagree. Not that this shouldn't be a goal. But four years just doesn't provide enough retooling time, and, much as "Detroit" has pissed me off over the past 25 years, I don't want to see the place shut down and all those workers hunting for non-existent jobs. Moreover, even the Japanese (and Chinese) couldn't meet that goal in four years.
As I noted more than four years ago in
Energy Plan: No Visionaries, Please and Part 2, there are numerous models for a decent energy plan, and that was before we developed the open source energy plan known as Energize America.
Why is this sentence seemingly so hard for our Democratic candidates for President to say?
Because it is completely retarded, and they are not that stupid. Getting the AVERAGE up to 40mpg in 4 years would be a difficult goal, but possible.

Gee, pants-pissing peter, what has Dear Leader done the past 6.5 years???
Noneof the current Democratic candidates can repair all the damage that Bush has done to the Republic, the economy, and the environment.
Posted by gay veteran at November 17, 2007 01:56 PMThey will have to pry my new "gator" from my cold dead fat ass. I drive 2500 miles a year, I think the environment can handle it.
