speaking of enabling Bush...word is that the Senate Dems are planning to CAVE again and take the Iraq withdrawal deadline out of the latest Bush War Money Giveaway.

Maybe I'm stupid. I don't see the contradiction.

There is a difference between giving Bush the benefit of the doubt and accepting that he might be right once in a blue moon. A blind squirrel, a broken clock, etc., etc...

For instance, I think it is appropriate to TALK about what a sane administration should do, or be willing to do, in order to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. It is inappropriate to give the Bush administration the benefit of the doubt about taking any military actions.

Now, I'd agree that Obama is wrong on the merits of the Social Security issue. But IF Social Security were genuinely in crisis, would it be wrong for Democrats to discuss it just because the GOP has been demogaoguing the issue for 30 years? No.
