Comments: Clinton Returns To Readiness Argument

"It takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush".

Oy, now our latest Lancastrian pretender Hillary C. is openly referring to (and reveling in) BushAmerica's ongoing War of the Roses. And the Dem Lancastrians lap it up, guffawing away.

(I've got more on this Shakespearean theme in eriposte's "Lessig and Wilentz thread below, if one has any interest. Probabably should have posted it here....oh well)

So Obama thinks that "because he lived overseas for four years as a child, he understands foreign cultures and therefore has better foreign policy judgment than his peers."

Well I lived in Cartagena, Colombia for three years as a child and Tehran, Iran three years as a young adult. I must really be an expert on Colombian and Iranian cultures and I have no doubt my foreign policy judgement exceeds many in our government.

Me for President!

readiness for Hillary??? How about "I actually already lived in the White House". Take that, Obama.

John McCain was born in Panama so if we ever have a canal crisis he will hit the water running?

Considering that most political policy takes time before it works its way through the economic system, often in 4 to 5 year lags, the people that clapped obviously fall for stupid emotional arguments.
Of course you could argue that the Q's were really fair valued at over 5k in 2000. Best of luck making that argument.

I think Clinton's "I've visited a hundred-some-odd countries" line (while a political figure doing governmental things) trumps Obama's study-abroad experience.

Hopefully I don't owe you some sort of royalty for this, but this is nothing more than 'Bush Derangement Syndrome'.
I had a similar problem helping my father choose a health insurance plan for this year. His company increased the amount the employee paid. So when I went over the estimated cost of the first plan, he kept comparing it to what he had this year. I had to constantly remind him that this year is sunk and thus doesn't matter in the decision.
If you didn't know any better, you'd think the democrats are running against George W. in 2008.

Actually, Steve, you give Hillary excellent advice. She should take it.
