Comments: A "Planted" Open Thread

I'd like to "plant" a Happy Thanksgiving thought for everyone here at TLC!

(just in case I don't get back to everyone tomorrow)

I'd like to plant the idea of pumpkin pies and gingerbread...the aroma of cinnamon and cloves, mmmm. Baking today, what fun!

Caribbean sand between your toes and Caribbean rum in yer belly!

Plant that!

Posted by snark at November 21, 2007 08:41 AM

Snark, that sounds absolutely wonderful. Have fun. Oh, and watch that rum. It always taste better on a beach.

I too want to wish everyone here at TLC a safe and fun Thanksgiving. We all have many things to be thankful for, but I personally am thankful that Bush has only one more year.

Plant that!

Positively un-American!

Maybe you can have a pumpkin daquiri?

Positively un-American!

Not!

Alexander Hamilton, my American hero, was from the Caribbean.

Now I know where snark gets his posting demeanor . . .

Rum? Heh.

snark, you know I'm just jealous. Though I do love all the cooking, it'd be nice to just zone on the surf and sun. Sigh.

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

About Obama and Oprah, if he's really telling the truth and Oprah endorses him, this race is over and Obama is the winner.

That said, I'm not so sure that he can speak for Oprah. She needs to endorse him, he can't proclaim that she's endorsing him.

I know coyote. Believe me, Thanksgiving is a wonderful day at our house every year. Friends and family from all parts of the world together to share a great meal. But this year the Mrs and I need the down time.

I'll post some pics at RAofs (remember that place?) when we get back.

Eat a slice of pumpkin pie for me and I'll drink a CoCo Loco for ya!

Posted by snark at November 21, 2007 10:56 AM

Brian, I thought she already endorsed Obama.

Who knew this comments section would make me so hungry???

Coyote - if you post a recipe for a pumpkin daquiri, I'll love you forever. (Just not in a creepy, sort of way ...)

BTW, there is no equivalence (moral, political or otherwise) between this "plant" and that of Hillary's. Sorry ...

Posted by CitizenBoo at November 21, 2007 11:47 AM

I agree re the moral equivalance of the two examples.

If you can make a pumpkin latte you must be able to make a pumpkin daquiri.

Posted by snark at November 21, 2007 12:15 PM

You'd probably need a fresh pumpkin, and it'd end up like a smoothie, but I could prolly whip up something! You'll have to wait until I get this gingerbread dough put together, though. Cookies won't make themselves, you know.

Oprah? Are you fucking kidding me? With the way she's been flaking out lately, "liability" is more like it.

Citizenboo,

You said:

So, when a member of the politician's campaign asks a random stranger to ask a question that's bad, but when a member of the campaign themselves asks their own candidate a question that's just peachy, huh? I take it you approved of the FEMA "press conference" after the San Diego fires, then?

Posted by eriposte at November 22, 2007 09:16 AM

Asks.

The difference is in the number of asks.

Posted by snark at November 22, 2007 09:48 AM

I hate to contradict the talking points you get from the Clinton campaign, but the reporter who heard that question, Lynn Sweet, stated explicitly that she had overheard it inadvertently and that the campaign was probably not happy that she picked up on it.

More 'truthiness' from someone who purports to be undecided.
