gee, the GOPer Media and Candidates themselves have been calling him Osama for months....if Obama wins two or three early primaries he's liable to be shipped to Gitmo. Meanwhile, Tweedy continues his Hillary HateBall show...man, he has turned on her with a vengance. Listening to him slam her last night by slamming Bill, it was serious hate.
One thing occurred to me last night. People still love Bill Clinton. People want Bill Clinton to be president again. Many of them may finally be realizing that Hillary is the one running and maybe they really aren't that interested in her being president.
T2, I expect more from the Washington Post, though. We NEED better from the Washington Post.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 29, 2007 01:34 PMyou are joking, right?
Posted by T2 at November 29, 2007 02:15 PM(sigh)
You're right, T2. I'm being naive again, aren't I?
Is Keith Olbermann all we have in the media?
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 29, 2007 02:23 PMI'm glad that one smear item hasn't gotten legs in the news (I hopefully doesn't).
Some ignoramus in central Iowa made some handwritten flyers supporting Edwards because, "Obama is a n*****, and Hillary is a b****". It reeks of the worst dirty gutterball campaign tactics against Edwards.
Posted by idiosynchronic at November 29, 2007 02:28 PMWow. Ain't politics grand?
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at November 29, 2007 02:44 PMWelcome to what the campaign is going to be like for any democrat who looks to be near the top. Just wait until the general for the real fur to fly.
On Obama's Muslim tendencies:
The Post says that that fount of disinformation, snopes.com, said "Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim." presumably making him a Muslim apostate. I wondered if Muslim apostates automatically get fatal fatwas so I roamed around Googling. Apparently not, but depending on the country some seem to.
I did find an interesting site, http://www.islamfortoday.com/frustrations.htm which included a comment on the sutra (apologies if I do not have that right):
"You have two characters which God likes; gentleness and deliberation."
Which do seem to be characteristics of Senator Obama and would lead one to think he is much more Muslim except that gentleness and deliberation are also characteristics of people I know that are UCC (as is Sen. Obama), and also Unitarians, Quakers, Amish and Mennonites; gays, feminists, some soldiers and even some businessmen, lawyers and Episcopalians.
Rush Limbaugh is, on the other hand, less gentle and deliberate than outraged and rash, more like a conservative Christian demagogue, NAZI, Stalinist or plain old psychotic.
But that may be out of date, I have not heard Rush for many years and maybe he has learned something. It would be gentle and deliberate to hope so.
Calling Barack Obama a Muslim when he says he is UCC is an insult to all three. How rude.

Posted by NealB at November 29, 2007 05:18 PMWaPo Whopper Test:
The following is complete fabricated BS by me. Will it find its way to the WaPo front page?
"SOME SAY that Oprah has talked Obama into fighting for slave reparations. Using the same system as Katrina Visa Cards, anyone who fills out a form CLAIMING to be the relative of a slave will be paid ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Relatives of early Chinese rairoad workers who were pressed into service will also qualify. The money will come from the SOCIAL SECURITY GENERAL FUND."
...YOU get reparations!... and YOU get reparations!...and YOU get reparations!!!
Do I see a drooling WaPo reporter on the horizon?
I'm bothered by the dynastic aspects of Bush/Clinton/Clinton/Bush/Bush/Clinton?/Clinton?, but a Kennedy wouldn't be disturbed. It would seem very natural to him.
The presidency should not belong to any of these powerful political families. We need new blood in public life. If we have to cycle the office/power among 2 or 3 families, let's just get the Windsors back.
Posted by nyc at November 30, 2007 06:13 AMI'm bothered by the dynastic aspects of Bush/Clinton/Clinton/Bush/Bush/Clinton?/Clinton?
You should be. It's no coincidence.
Like Geena Davis said in "The Fly":
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at November 30, 2007 06:49 AMIf Hillary is elected President then the Gov of NY will have to find a Democrat to replace her. Now doesn't Bobby Jr. fit that bill? He would undoubtedly be a great Senator.
Posted by Bruce at November 30, 2007 08:30 AMSounds like some of the BULL that Senator Obama has spread on Senator Clinton. If he can dish it out he should be able to take it. Senator Clinton for President. Senator Obama said in one of his speaches when he announced that he was running for president. "It's time for the baby boomer to step aside for a fresh face. Senator Obama is so inexperienced he is just throwing words, for he is a baby boomer himself and so is Senator Clinton. I thought Senator Obama went to college. Look up Baby Boomer 1945 to 1966. Now I was born in 1962 and am younger than Senator Obama and also am a Baby Boomer. So if Senator Obama is running for any thing well I guess he done another Flip Flop. He still thinks us Baby Boomers can do our jobs. That it isn't time for us to set in our rockers. Its like I said before. Senator Obama will tell you what ever you want so that he can get arrested. He thinks the White man is bringinning harm to the Black people. This is more SEPERATION rather then bringinning peoiple togeather. Senator Clinton has my Oklahoma Vote and is a Favorite at the University that I am at. Go back to Africa Obama and take your brother GEE YOU WANT ANY WITH You.
