Comments: Going Fishing

So after endorsing Hillary you're going to clear out and leave the vicious food fighting to us? I don't know about this.....

Good luck with the projects, enjoy the writing and it'll be six months before you know it. And I'll still be here lambasting peter for his dead-ender, global warming denial---some things never change.

I do have to say I enjoy your posts, but will hang around for this Turkana guy....now get writing!

Posted by euzoius at December 4, 2007 02:18 PM

Wow, cool! Gonna miss you, Steve, but good luck with the writing - you'll be great!

Posted by iamcoyote at December 4, 2007 02:41 PM

Your insight, and surgical dissection of neo con insanity, will be missed. I'll expect to be buying one of your works by September '08! Good Luck.

Steve, you deserve a break, and I'm glad you plan to return in time for the real fun. Hopefully you'll toss a post our way from time to time, just to keep in practice.

Excellent choice: Turkana rocks!

Posted by andgarden at December 4, 2007 02:55 PM

Steve,

I wish you the very best with your writing. May you have pens that don't run out of ink and cool quiet and time to think (a line stolen from Lucinda Williams). Have a great Holiday. I hope we'll be hearing from you every now and then in the new year. I'll enjoy reading Turkana while you're away. (I'd enjoy Turkana even if you were still here;) .. Jude

If one of my off thread lame "jokes" was the last straw, I deeply apologize.

Best of luck and thanks for the rubber room. I will miss your excellent work.

We'll miss you Steve. Happy holidays, and HURRY BACK.

Christ!

I'm two days into my forties and already the world is turning upside down!

What's next? Red wine causes cancer?

Good writing Steve. Hopefully they won't be giving YOUR books away for free at some future Netroots Nation. ;)

Good luck Steve - if you ever want to brainstorm some ideas, you've got a community sounding board. I see a Robert Ludlum meets Tom Clancy sorta thing.

Steve:---

I don't like how our relationship went a while back, but I am still certain that you are a principled and decent man, and I am grateful for your many indulgences over the years. Your efforts here have been admirable and worthwhile.

Best wishes,

Toby

Steve,

You'll be missed, but understand your need to take a break. Dear Lord, writing, such imperative yearning that doesn't stop gnawing at one's bloody entrails until something 'tis done about it, so Bacchus help us! BTW, been doing the writing bit myself for the last 15-years or so…

Anyway, though I’ve been rather quiet for quite a while already (not much to add during these important times for the good old US of A; your candidates, your fight, and your important for the entire world election), the LC continues being my favorite blog.

Happy holidays to you and yours, and may the gods of expression be at your fingertips ready and more than willing to caress you with inspiration.

PAZ

P.S. Welcome, Turkana

When the big rewards start rolling in next year, you'll be one of the few who deserve credit. Thanks for your enlightening insights over the past four years. Looking forward to your book and your return next summer. Happy holidays.

Steve, This is my second home. You'll be missed more than you know.

Please be safe, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Good luck, Steve. Enjoy your break from blogging.

Without your steady hand on the editorial tiller, I'm afraid eriposte will unleash his 97 part series on Discriminatory facial gestures of AM radio personalities.

Seriously, good luck with the books.

And come back.

I just saw a show on PBS about Earnest Hemmingway and how he spent time in upper Lower MI every summer for years. It's a good place to get book ideas apparently, and probably plenty of good fishin'!
You'll be missed, Steve. Have Happy Holidays and time away.

Leaving in the middle of an election year, Steve? That's just crazy! Well, best of luck!

Posted by Brian Bell at December 4, 2007 08:00 PM

Steve, that's it, run away for all the excitement of the primaries, then come back over the long hot boring summer slog, the political doldrums. Wonder who we'll see then... A surprise with Gov. Huckabee as the GOP's nominee facing off with Senator Obama as the standard bearers for each party. Be seeing the return of our heroes from Iraq, a brigade a month being welcomed home with parades and much joy. And probably a very hot summer, even years seem to be hotter than the odd ones. Oh, and I wonder how many of those 4 million trees will have been planted trying to offset that Global Warming meeting being held in Bali right now?

Did anybody catch "Boston Legal" tonight? They 'Senator Craigd' Denny Crane in the courthouse mens room. He was found not guilty.

Well Steve, enjoy your time away creatively. Have a Merry Christmas, and just a pleasant New Year. Lord willing, and maybe a blogger her, I'll be waiting for your return.

Enjoy....Peace!!!!

Steve, definitely take time to smell the flowers, enjoy the family and write a good book! But make sure you come back. Thanks for all the smart insight and great blogging you do!

I was sure that Turkana would get another opportunity.

You don't know me, but good luck on your vacation.

Steve,
Best of luck with your books! You're reasoned posts will be missed. I come here to find some sanity in the world of blogs. We'll look forward to your return when the nominee will be picked and the campaigns will be running full steam ahead.

Enjoy your time away from TLC, Steve. May it prove fruitful. Best wishes to you and your family!
