Comments: Supreme Court strikes down mandatory sentences for crack cocaine

So this Court came up with this decision 9 to 0..."On that level, this is clearly a huge step in the right direction. The victory is". this Conservative Court with two new appointees came up with a progressive opinion. Wow, how 43 has moved the bar.

Pardon me, wrong case, this one was 7 to 2, with Roberts aligned with the majority and Alito with the minority. Sorry

Mandatory minimuns have been a disaster for our criminal justice system. We need a lot of reform to undo the damage that has been done by the ill advised war on drugs over the past three decades. Neverthelss, a small step in the right direction is still a step in the right direction.

the "war on drugs" is all about the government obtaining more and more power, just like the "war on terrorism"
