Comments: Lawrence Ferlinghetti interview on Democracy Now!

Ah, if I only knew then what I know now. I lived in San Francisco in the early 60's, and City Lights was my home. I had a chance to visit San Francisco a couple of years ago, and City Lights had not changed one iota, nothing was different. The same old signs that graced walls in the 60's were still up. The smell was the same. Some things are etched in history, never to be changed.

I was introduced to Ferlinghetti by reading his book 'City Lights,' and was forever hooked. I would be a very rich person had I kept track of all the first editions of Ferlinghetti, Kerouac, Boroughs, Ginsberg books I lent out or lost in moving from place to place. Never mind the signatures I could have gotten by the people hanging out at City Lights.
