Comments: Iowa Countdown - 7 days

Hooray idio! So glad you're reporting! Hope the weather's gotten better for ya'll.

The snow just freaking never stops. No big storms this month, but the icing we've been getting in conjunction makes it 300x worse. We're getting 'tween 2-4" of snow this AM, just in time for me to drive in to work.

While we're on it - the extended forecast for next Thursday is out and predicting the last snow event for New Year's Eve & Day (so all the drunks can REALLY make a mess); but the following 2 days as sunny and just below freezing.

As of right now, don't count on depressed Iowa turn-outs because of the weather or slick roads.

Yuk! That's why I left Michigan and never looked back! Still, you guys are used to that sort of weather, so I'm sure everyone will be oot and aboot, if a little cranky!

Sorry, your weather reports do not make any sense to me. Sunny and below freezing?

Does not compute. Sunny and below freezing is why I remain ensconced in San Diego, thanks very much.

Just a question, Idio. How many people will actually be voting for the Dems, roughly? Okay, another ? Does Iowa have enough delegates to elect a candidate by themselves?

I have never cast a ballot, primary or general, for President that matters, and the media just disgusts me in their desparation in trying to get the best storyline instead of just reporting and letting the people pick their candidate. If you should bump into any campaign folks, please remind them that it's only the media that is picking the candidates if they let the results of IA and NH totally influence their campaigns.

Thanks. Btw, it's sunny and 70 at my house, 60 at the coast, and sunny.

That's mean, Duckman, mean! You could at least lie and say that there is a bad storm in the forecast so the rest of us won't feel so bad.

Silly man, didn't you know that all it takes is a half-million mixture of rural, suburban and urban white people to lead a nation? Heh.

I think the process of the caucus is newsworthy, 1) because so many claim to 'not understand it' and gloss over why it is what it is, 2) because opportunity and circumstance have placed Iowa and New Hampshire in a position to make national decisions in a fashion that keeps control by party leadership.

The Iowa Democratic caucus has a reputation for choosing candidates close to and endorsed by the Party apparatus. The GOP version is notorious for having bug-eyed loons show, place, or even win; it's a bone to the wild-eyed members of the Party. Then the GOP corrects in the NH primary.

It Is. It's not fair nor democratic or even republican in the broadest definition. And by God, it should be changed.
