I'm aware that the numbers don't add up to 13. There were 7 votes on the Republican side, with John McCain winning 4 votes, Romney getting 2, and Giuliani getting 1.
I don't know why Larry King said there were only 13 voters.

Has anyone read 'How to Rig an Election: Confessions of a Republican Operative' by Allen Raymond? Curious if it is worth the read.
There were four absentee voters. Total of seventeen registered voters.
Posted by downtown LA at January 7, 2008 09:34 PMHRC has been in full implosion mode over the past 72 hours. She didn't do herself any favors in the debate on Saturday. Her "...reality check..." statement about Obama's idealism disaffected a lot of people. It was cynical and cold. It might have been her worse gaff up to that point. But, yesterday showed her at her most selfdestructive.
First, the "...misty eyed..." response was shameless political theater.
However, her real hari-kari stroke about MLK being a dreamer while LBJ was the doer, and then the shameless fear mongering prediction of an AQ attack in 2009 and how she is the best to handle it will become a case study in what not to do or say when the winds have begun to blow against you in a tough political fight.
With the MLK comment alone I think she thrown any advantage she may have once had under the bus. She certainly shredded any chance she might have had in SC and I think with African Americans in general. I can just hear them saying to themselves, "Oh, I suppose Martin's putting himself in harms way all those years, all the marches, all the beatings, all the jail time, and then, finally, being shot down wasn't the mark of a doer?" If the African American community is angry over her ill considered comments, they have a good right to be. MLK and those who marched with him sacrificed real blood and real tears. What the hell did LBJ ever sacrifice? LBJ was a smart politican, he could see what was happening couldn't be stopped. He had the choice of doing nothing and being rolled over by the tide of events, or being proactive and in the process taking a lot of the credit (how much credit he really deserved is a matter of debate.) But please
spare us the revisionist history. LBJ didn't start the movement, he was just smart enough to ride it for all it was worth.
Indeed, the first NH results are in. I think the pattern shown in Dixville will be largely repeated over the course of the day. Hillary has nobody to blame but herself.
Posted by Scott at January 7, 2008 10:55 PMHillary can blame Mark Penn who I still think is really Donna Brazile in drag and pancake.
Posted by TIKI AL at January 7, 2008 11:28 PMI saw a very interesting catch at MYDD: it turns out Obama won Iowa mainly due to the Eastern part of the state---i.e. where it's close to IL.
Posted by MarkL at January 8, 2008 12:20 AMI think Hillary tearing up was genuine--why anyone would do that on purpose when it could totally backfire into an impression of a weak leader is beyond me. I hadn't heard the MLK/LBJ comment, but that sounds atrocious. I've been really rooting for her, but the only thing that sounds promising is that it was reported that Dixville Notch has been wrong 100% of the time, meaning Obama doesn't win NH. But there's a first time for everything. It really seems like Obama has edge.

And your point is? C'mon . . out with it. Or are you enough of a half-assed troll to let it hang and mean whatever reader's fantasy comes to mind?
The eastern part of the state, with Des Moines, makes up almost 80% of the state population. It makes perfect sense for Obama to campaign heavily in those areas, especially since they're Democratic-leaning and just tossed 2 incumbent goopers in 2006.
