I wonder if the Palestinians have been getting those "Obama's a Muslim" emails too?
Probably not seeing as most of them live in squalor and rarely have electricity.
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 12:44 PMsnark, if the non-squalor Palestinians are seeking Christian Faith Based advice on where to invest their fortunes....they may be on the email list. My advice to them would be to stay in CD's until January of next year.

I coulda' swore I heard geogie telling them to invest in the dollar! ;)
If Israelis are supporting Hillary, then the Jewish lobby will go for her. Acoording to Pres. Carter, jewish support is a must for a politician to win.
Posted by suresh at January 10, 2008 01:10 PMsuresh,
there is no "jewish" lobby.
Posted by Turkana at January 10, 2008 01:14 PMthere is no "jewish" lobby.
Aren't those the ones where they only display a menorah during "the Holidays"?
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 01:21 PMTurkana, maybe suresh is referring to the Entertainment Industry.
Posted by T2 at January 10, 2008 01:21 PMWhat a slap to John Edwards by Kerry. A poll on AOL says that his endorsement will have "no impact." Stick that John.
Posted by Judith at January 10, 2008 01:24 PMTurkana, maybe suresh is referring to the Entertainment Industry.
Oh dear..
Aren't those the ones where they only display a menorah during "the Holidays"?
*snicker*

Lol (and I'm Jewish). From what I see, there's no "Jewish vote." We're split. I'm guessing that the Palestinians either think Obama is Muslim or know that he had a Muslim father and step-father and figure he'll be sympathetic to them. The fact that Palestinians want Obama makes me hopeful about what he could do there if he were elected since he might be seen as having no pre-existing bias. What did he say/do during the war with Hezbollah?
Is it my imagination or do many people refer to Clinton as "Mrs. Clinton" (as in the JJ Jr. video) while referring to the others as Senator Obama, Governor Richardson, Senator (or former-Senator) Edwards, etc. Maybe I just don't notice them saying Mr. Obama, etc.
Posted by CG at January 10, 2008 01:37 PMJeff said:
"...Actually, the endorsement of a key Las Vegas union that represents Hispanic casino workers is a potential biggie for Barack...."
You're right, that's the real big endorsement, while everybody's concentrating on Kerry's endorsement, which means little.
CG, I started to write a snarky comeback to your "is this sexist?" question and then realized I'm too angry and it might come out nastier than I intend it to be.
Of course it's sexist. Good on you for noticing.
Posted by merciless at January 10, 2008 01:43 PMOK, so I'm not imagining it then? It bugs me every time I hear it, but I really wasn't sure if I had just missed when people say "Mr. Whoever."
Posted by CG at January 10, 2008 01:54 PMRon Paul news letters (the one's he didn't write and didn't know about ;) ) are front paged on CNN.com.
Ouch!
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 02:40 PMWell, snark, the Paulbots were complaining he wasn't getting any media attention...I guess there's no pleasing some folks, eh?
Posted by iamcoyote at January 10, 2008 03:00 PMCG, Obama called her "Hillary" repeatedly during the debate, and has in other public remarks as well.
She has never once referred to "Barack" or "John" in those settings. She always uses Senator Obama.
Yes, it is fucking sexist and I for one am GODDAMN TIRED of the deafening silence of the progressive community on this.
Posted by WMCB at January 10, 2008 04:07 PMKerry's endorsement of Obama is like: Skull and Bones wants you! Give me a break! The most traitorous bastard Bonesman who gave the 2004 election to Satan on a silver platter is no one to take seriously. It's like Gore's endorsement of Dean....who remembers that?
Kerry and Obama and Oprah. What three stooges!
Posted by Teresa in Baghdad at January 10, 2008 04:10 PMWMCB, I'm sure I've heard Clinton call Obama "Barak" and I thought at least once during a debate (it may have been when she said "you're likable enough" and she said "thanks Barak"), but I'm not sure. That doesn't bother me. The candidates know each other and call each other by their first names in real life, so if they use first names sometimes when they shouldn't it doesn't really bug me--they all do it. But for pundits, campaign managers, etc to use Mrs. Clinton instead of Senator Clinton really bothers me.
Posted by CG at January 10, 2008 04:24 PMLink to Bob McManus @ NY Post doesn't work. Thanks.
Posted by jen at January 10, 2008 05:08 PMI've definitely heard Hillary refer to Obama as Barack. And vis verse. They were all refering to each other by first name at YearlyKos. Nothing wrong with that. Calling Hillary "Mrs. Clinton" would be a problem. Seeing as she's a Senator and all.
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 05:09 PMFox News Banner? ... HILLARY DEAD!!!
(Sir Edmund Hillary 1919-2008)
RIP explorer extraordinaire.
Posted by TIKI AL at January 10, 2008 05:15 PMI've been misspelling Obama's name.
Posted by Toby Petzold at January 10, 2008 05:30 PMHILLARY DEAD!!!
Funny! Really, who wouldn't be tempted to go with that headline?
Posted by iamcoyote at January 10, 2008 06:12 PMLook, kid, if you're going to steal someone's name and write a fake post, you should at least try to make it harder to figure out by linking my name. As it is, your IP is probably in the cache, and the proprietors know who you are.
We may fight a lot amongst ourselves here, but I think we all can agree that sockpuppetry is the most heinous of offenses on any blog. If you can't speak for yourself, you must not have anything constructive to say, so fuck off.
Posted by iamcoyote at January 10, 2008 06:30 PMI dunno, I might have left it as an example, but thanks, whoever did that.
Posted by iamcoyote at January 10, 2008 06:42 PMI thought you'd taken some bad shit or something coyote.
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 06:44 PMDon't take the brown acid! I repeat: Don't Take The Brown Acid!
Posted by iamcoyote at January 10, 2008 06:46 PMBrown acid?
Racist!
Posted by snark at January 10, 2008 06:50 PMCoyote, I decided to eliminate the scumbag. Thanks for the warning about the acid I was about to head over there.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 10, 2008 06:51 PMIt is a slap at Hillary, not Edwards. People got it all wrong. Bill Clinton campaigned for Kerry after a quadruple heart surgery so Kerry paid it back by backing Obama.
Kerry is a jerk.
Posted by john at January 10, 2008 07:02 PMYou know what's really bad... I've heard that Obama has been humming Bob Marley's:
No, Woman, No Cry
*ducks for cover*
Thanks, Jeff. I mean, really. Who does that shit? But now my brilliant comeback seems out of place.
*throws popcorn at SoS*
Thanks alot, big guy; now I have that song stuck in my head!
Brown acid?Racist!
You saying I'm bitter, snark? Harumph!
"Kerry's endorsement of Obama is like: Skull and Bones wants you! Give me a break! The most traitorous bastard Bonesman who gave the 2004 election to Satan on a silver platter is no one to take seriously."
Hmmm, maybe that was the contract between Bonesmen Teresa.
