I wish Edwards were in favor of nuclear power, for the short term (next few decades).
Nuclear plants could replace existing coal plants. No other existing technology has that capability. \
Edwards is certainly superior to Obama though... and btw, did you read Krugman's latest comparison of the top three candidates? Guess who came up short again.
Here's how a candidate gets attention, Turkana. He comes out and says the Constitution needs to be changed to be in line with God's word. Yes, Huckleberry has decided that when he is president, the Separation of Church and State has got to go. Sounds great.
Posted by T2 at January 15, 2008 12:00 PMmark,
the cost, the time it takes to build them, the endless cost of storing nuke waste makes them just replacing one bad option with another. we need to stop the half-measures, and we need to stop adding to our problems. massive spending on things like csp could obviate the need for fossil fuels and nukes.
Posted by Turkana at January 15, 2008 12:06 PMTurkana,
Did you read Baskil's last week?

Why does this guy not get more attention?
Eecause the korporate media decided that Edwards will NOT get more attention. Economic populism gives them heartburn.
Posted by Gay Veteran at January 15, 2008 12:13 PMThe GOPers don't want to run against a white, southern guy. period. So he's been shoved out.
Posted by T2 at January 15, 2008 12:15 PMmark,
waaaaay too long for me to wade through, but i've heard all the arguments. here are a couple quick links:

I didn't realize Edwards was hurting for attention. He's been a "top tier" candidate from the beginning.
I think Kucinich would slap you with his hot wife for even asking that question.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at January 15, 2008 01:08 PMMark:
You are absolutely correct about building Nuclear plants until we develop alternate sources to generate electricity without polluting. I am in Nuclear field for last 3 decades and am convienced that they are safe, reliable and would meet our energy needs without importing oil. France is generating 80% of their energy by Nuclear plants. They have found a way to store the spent fuel safely. why cannot we?
Posted by suresh at January 15, 2008 01:19 PMsuresh,
part of the way france deals with its nuke waste is to ship it to russia:

what russia does with it is anyone's guess.
Posted by Turkana at January 15, 2008 01:25 PM"what russia does with it....."
Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.
Posted by euzoius at January 15, 2008 01:42 PMWhy does this guy not get more attention?
Actually, the question answers itself.
It does? How? Because he's a guy? Obama's a guy.
Your writing makes no sense. Were your parents first cousins who also wrote badly?
Posted by MaskedVigilante at January 15, 2008 02:10 PMGee, MV, sorry you're having a bad day. I know how easy it is for it to spill over onto the comment threads. How 'bout a nice cookie?
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 02:44 PMHow can I gain Turkana's respect if he won't fight me?? 8)
Posted by MaskedVigilante at January 15, 2008 05:15 PMEven dumber than peter! I didn't think it possible.
[shakes head]
Posted by snark at January 15, 2008 06:08 PMAw, c'mon snark, no one is dumber than peter. MV just hates Edwards with a white hot hate. **I think it's the hair!**
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 06:27 PMNo, it's not the hair anymore. I've grown to like and appreciate his coif.
No more programmed monkey man response.
