Yeah, it's official, all the news organizations are declaring Mitt the winner.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 06:32 PMThompson 4%, eh? What a putz.
Anyone watching the "debate?"
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 06:43 PMCoyote, I've been having a discussion with my 11-year-old daughter and my 7-year-old son. We were laughing and having a good time talking about their school. It was a much more stimulating conversation. I'm now tuning in.
Have I missed anything besides Dennis Kucinich?
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 06:58 PMNothing that compares to giggling with your kids, Jeff. Still, I'm glad that my side has such good candidates. They just blew off the sensationalist shit and have been polite and smart throughout. They all look good, I think.
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 07:20 PMWhy would you quote exit polls? I thought they were now unreliable.
Posted by Bob In Pacifica at January 15, 2008 07:27 PMThey do seem to be turning their guns towards Republicans instead of themselves, that's good.
I noticed the heckler, anyone know what he was yelling? Someone told me it was something along the lines of the whole proceeding being "rigged." (?)
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 07:29 PMbob,
actually, the exit polls in new hampshire were pretty accurate. it was the pre-election polling that largely underestimated the turnout for hillary.
Posted by Turkana at January 15, 2008 07:29 PMNow I'm hearing the heckler was complaining about "race-based" questions.
Is it me or does everyone look like they need some Red Bull and Ritalin?
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 07:45 PMJeff, I just heard a commotion, but not a clear voice. It's been pretty tame, poor Timmeh has been thwarted in all his gotcha shit. What a tool. But at least they're getting deep into the issues, backing each other up, while pointing out their differences. No fireworks, but no bad gaffes, either.
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 07:49 PMThis from the NY Times blog:
"Mr. Kucinich had previously framed his dis-invitation as an attempt by NBC to muzzle dissenting voices. In a statement last week he labeled corporate media control of information sinister and un-American."
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 07:50 PMI'm sorry, Coyote, I'm trying to remain positive but I'm so upset over DK being banned. I'm glad this is a civil discussion that won't create ugly headlines tomorrow.
I'm gonna see if I can find some Girl Scout cookies in the cupboard.
Posted by Jeff Dinelli at January 15, 2008 07:53 PMDid Olberman just say "It's always a great relief when one of these things [debates] comes to an end?"
Posted by iamcoyote at January 15, 2008 08:02 PMHell, yes.
Isn't everyone tired of the debates?

"No one else bothered to campaign there.
Because the DNC told them not to, the bastards -- all of 'em, candidates and DNC alike.
Same with the Republicans -- bastards -- only letting in half the delegates, which beats no Michigan delegates as the DNC is planning on allowing into their convention.
And same with my pushy Michigander legislators who pissed the national parties off -- bastards, all of 'em.
The real loser tonight? Democratic primaries.
Posted by Brian Bell at January 15, 2008 08:43 PMI noticed the heckler, anyone know what he was yelling? Someone told me it was something along the lines of the whole proceeding being "rigged."
I think he said the debate was "rigged" with "phony" questions. Which I took to mean this wasn't a real debate, but rather a campaign commercial threesome.
I was groaning something similar when they dragged him out.

Turk, thank you for mentioning this again because I don't ever want to read something about Mitt without there being a mention of what he did to that dog. I'm being completely sincere.
It's not the only thing that should be said about him, but it's a big enough thing that it shouldn't be forgotten.
And for that reference, I'll stop trying to start shit with you. You're okay by me.
Posted by MaskedVigilante at January 16, 2008 07:27 AMThe only unadjusted exit poll that was given to the public, and as an aside by C. Matthews, that we've heard put Obama ahead by eight points. If you've got unadjusted exit polls, please give us a link.
By the way, I got an email from the Huffington Post that we should all just say no to pollers. It's all so confusing!
Posted by Bob In Pacifica at January 16, 2008 08:28 AMAt least Mitt didn't say he wants to change the Constitution to conform to the Bible like Gomer Godbot said yesterday.
The good Reverend Huckeberry Thin wants ammendments to ban abortion and gay marriage.
And I was SO close to voting for him so we could have a beer together!
