Comments: Will This Man Ever Just Shut Up?

The egregious Cretin-in-Chief.

Life is hard work, even when you has respect fer the Almighty!

But, the question is, when you get dealt the hand, how do you play it?

Spoken from a guy who got dealt 4 aces and laid down three of them in hopes of making a flush on the draw.

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 09:05 AM

A complete Bozo!

Posted by BA at February 12, 2008 09:06 AM

moron. If I was hired tomorrow by Clinton or Obama to run their campaign, I'd get that picture of the pudgy, disheveled John McOld bear hugging our Moron in Chief...you know the picture I mean, and I'd spend all their campaign funds putting that photo on TV and in the Print from now until Nov. 6.

When the little tyke was found face down in the mud alive, it was a miracle from God!

When 57 people were killed, it was that bitch, Mother Nature's fault.

Meteorlogical misogynism?

Funny! And so true. Sadly, he still won the hand, because the 'murkin pipples don't know how to fuckin' play the game!

FISA fight fails, again. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Most Qualified Dem Candidate and US Senator, failed to vote. Great Leadership.

Posted by T2 at February 12, 2008 09:23 AM

You can read the list of Senate traitors on TPMmuckracker. These people could care less about our rights. And Hill didn't bother to vote.

Posted by JohnT at February 12, 2008 10:05 AM

T2, the vote was 31-67. Her vote either way wouldn't have made a difference.

Posted by iamcoyote at February 12, 2008 10:06 AM

He is, indeed, one of the great fools of all time.

Posted by Scy at February 12, 2008 10:09 AM

But they can at least complain about it coyote.

Where's that itty bitty fiddle again?

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 10:10 AM

I think TIKI's got it, parading the kitties around the yard...so cute!

Posted by iamcoyote at February 12, 2008 10:11 AM

I was inspired by Barack Obama's leadership on this though. The way he really got out front on this. All those speeches he gave about the importance of this. I don't think he slept last night because he was up making personal appeals to both sides of the aisle to get the votes.

Really threw his weight around from what I hear.

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 10:20 AM

Cretin-in-Chief was dealt a losing hand, yet was declared the winner by the "house".

How does that apply to the hapless tornado victims again?

The republic was betrayed by the senate New Democratic Coalition. What's Hillary's relation to that again?

Obama showed up and voted BTW, not that it matters much. This is really quite a dark day for the country, very historic. It's on the lines of approving the WWII round up of the japanese americans.

The rule of law is now demonstrably a joke, killed by the very institution that passes the laws! Remarkable. We probably are beyond caring if "elections" matter now. I think I am.

Have a fun primary night, I'm taking the day off I think.

With a respect for the Almighty, you'd think God would have spared the people of Macon County. I thought God only smited those who support gay marriage and a woman's right to choose. God must know something about Macon County that we don't.

Posted by ann at February 12, 2008 10:32 AM

I thought God only smited those who support gay marriage and a woman's right to choose.

No.

God is an equal opportunity smiter.

That's the true test of faith. To be...smited?...smote?...and STILL have faith.

Of course it could also just mean that there is no God and everything that happens is just a random act of...that bitch...nature?

And it's a perfect example why his "bi-partisanship will solve everything" campaign is full of crap. If he was up all night and couldn't stop a cloture vote on this, WTF do the Obamaites think he's going to accomplish as President?

Seriously, the Republicans are in it to win, not to compromise. And until the Democrats, voters and politicians, get that through their thick skulls, the Republicans are going to march lock-step all over the Democrats, America and the Constitution.

Moses, check the name. It was snark...

Posted by iamcoyote at February 12, 2008 10:56 AM

The chimp was just on CNN "speaking" about African-American History Month.

He acknowledged Rev Sharpton and his "wife" in the audience, which would have been nice except for the fact that the good Rev was actually with his daughter.

He corrected himself: "DAUGHTER!, DAUGHTER! I don't always get things exactly right. You're much prettier than your father."

This is the first time I ever heard the chimp admit he was wrong about anything, and why is Hillary trying to ruin African-American History Month?

Miss Manners would do the "right thing" and drop out of the race.

Posted by iamcoyote at February 12, 2008 10:56 AM

I wasn't sure. Even though the name said "snark." And having been beaten over the head like a fur seal by the Obama-philes the past two weeks because I keep asking about his constant capitulating to the Republicans and his constant support of the war he says he'd have voted against and PROMISED to defund as part of his Senate campaign...

And of course those gutless stands on women's rights and gun control. Voting "Present" because he was, apparently, too afraid to vote for principle over what the mean Republicans might say if he voted those principles he claims to have...

Anyway, thanks.

"T2, the vote was 31-67. Her vote either way wouldn't have made a difference." So I guess, using that view, all she needs to do is show up at the Senate everytime there is a tie....so she can be the tie-breaker. Hummm...that sounds like she'd be a good VP. I don't give a shit if it made a difference or not, she's supposed to be a Senator representing the people who elected her. If she doesn't have the time for that, she's the wrong person for the job.

Posted by T2 at February 12, 2008 01:32 PM

Well, all we know for sure is Hillary didn't deem it important enough to have her vote on retroactive immunity recorded for posterity. Obama did.

These are historic votes, one would think if a senator really opposed telecom (Cheney) immunity, they'd want their position recorded for posterity, to make their position on the rule of law crystal clear. But guess not.

Posted by euzoius at February 12, 2008 02:00 PM

"T2, the vote was 31-67. Her vote either way wouldn't have made a difference."

Oh well, the bill isn't going to pass anyway, so why vote? Good attitude. You will never see a Republican with that kind of philosophy.

Posted by Judith at February 12, 2008 02:04 PM

So if she records her vote against the entire bill, which contains immunity for the telecoms, does that not establish enough of a record?

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 02:04 PM

Oh well, the bill isn't going to pass anyway, so why vote?

It wasn't a vote on passing the bill.

It was a vote on an amendment to the bill.

So much hand wringing over this it's just really ridiculous.

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 02:23 PM

She shoulda been there.

One thing I'm wondering...when he ran for Senate, Barack was for the decriminalization of weed. I think he backed off of that in his presidential attempt, but I'm not sure. Anyone know? THAT'S a progressive idea that would signify real change. Too much money is spent chasing down dealers, imprisoning users, ignoring the many health benefits...I could go on and on. I just don't know if he still supports it. The GOP would club him with that, but it's the right stance.

Posted by Jeff Dinelli at February 12, 2008 02:26 PM

In the past, many of his detractors have dismissed him as a "lightweight." A chump. A joke. Many of them still do. And it's easy to see where they got this impression. Whenever he gives a speech, he invariably comes off sounding like some kind of ignoramus, who experiences difficulty wrapping his lips around the words that scroll across the Teleprompter. And when he has to work off-the-cuff, his folksy demeanor makes him seem more like the store manager of a Radio Shack than the President of the United States.

No. The selective outrage and hypocrisy being displayed in the comments here is nothing to be happy about.

Now, that was teh LOL!

Posted by iamcoyote at February 12, 2008 02:40 PM

Snark, I haven't had time to read up on this today very much, but what do you mean it was only an amendment to the bill? From what I understand so far this vote today forever puts an end to any effort to investigate and take to court the Bushies and their telecom allies for illegally spying on us. Am I wrong?

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick, I easily could be wrong, I just don't get what you're saying.

Posted by Jeff Dinelli at February 12, 2008 02:58 PM

I realize that to some the amendment isn't important, and that's fine, but why ridicule others for finding it important?

Posted by Judith at February 12, 2008 03:06 PM

I realize that to some the amendment isn't important,...

It was important. I never said it was not.

...and that's fine, but why ridicule others for finding it important?

I wasn't ridiculing anyone about considering the amendment important Judith. You wrote that it didn't matter whether the amendment was going to pass or not. That Clinton should have been there to vote anyway. I disagree. As I said earlier, I'm sure she spoke to Senator Reid who told her they did not nearly have enough votes to strip immunity. So her vote was unnecessary. All the hand wringing over Clinton skipping the vote is what I said was ridiculous.

Posted by snark at February 12, 2008 07:36 PM

Snark, it would seem to me that if you are running for the Presidency of this Country, you would not miss such an important vote regardless of whether or not your vote counts. Missing the vote leaves you open to speculation on why you missed the vote.

I wish just once the Democrats would vote 100% together on an issue.

Posted by Judith at February 12, 2008 09:32 PM

Barack Obama skipped the vote also.

Like I said, selective outrage.
