Well, the "front-pagers" of TLC praised the House for (finally) standing up, and I certainly do, even if it is better late than never. And I shudder to think what will happen among the informed progressives if they now cave on "immunity".
Why exactly can't the House leadership start explaining that "telecom" immunity is REALLY WH immunity from having its illegal acts revealed in federal court, to be ruled on by the nation's judiciary? Why act like this is being done to "protect" helpful, hapless telecoms---that's the GOoPers spin.
This FISA immunity bill is a presidential crimes cover-up bill. It's to make sure that the executive's crimes are not examined by the federal courts. Why can't that be clearly explained? Why can't Repubs be denounced by Dems for seeking to cover up (more of) Bush and Cheney's felonies?
