Hilarious! And TRUE.

Posted by chris at February 24, 2008 11:21 AMThe most truthful things are said in satire....
Posted by at February 24, 2008 12:44 PMSome heads are exploding all over the place at several prominent A-list blogs over this latest commentary. Tina Fey is a close second to Paul Krugman's place in the hall of hate and trashing. Too bad some people don't realize or think this is satire and snl is a comedy show..... mocking people and our society is what they do...but apparently, according to some people with more delicate sensibilities it hits too close to home...obama rules should apply here...mocking him and his supporters is off limits.
Posted by emal at February 24, 2008 01:02 PMDamn! I'm going to have to start watching SNL again! That wasn't bad.
Posted by DemnNewJ at February 24, 2008 01:41 PMBlack or Jewish. It's quite amazing that neither the blacks nor the Jews in the Obama camp (and are plenty of both) haven't felt a deja vu Hillary.
The Democrats are in deep trouble if racism is again widely practiced and encouraged.

Huh? Maybe I'm dense--I have no idea what you're talking about.
Posted by CG at February 24, 2008 02:32 PMIt took only 225 years for American society to produce a woman fully up to the Presidency; it looks as though it will be another 225 at least before another one comes along.
Posted by bob h at February 24, 2008 03:43 PMI am deeply worried that, after seeing the treatment that Hillary has endured from both the media and her own party, it will be a cold day in hell before another woman runs for the presidency.
Posted by at February 24, 2008 05:13 PMReality: Hillary unhinged. Is this presidential? She is going down in flames and it will not be pretty...

Why are people assuming that it is sexism and not just that people have problems with Hillary? I, personally, have big problems with her on the issues that concern me the most, all having to do with foreign and military matters. I don't care whether she is a woman, a man, a bitch, an sweetheart, an SOB, or a scholar and a gentleman. She is smart, she is tough, she thinks quickly on her feet, she is well-informed on the issues, and she comes off more sure of her knowledge and ideas than Obama does. All those are good things. But I can't get behind her policies on foreign matters, and I don't care at all that he is Black and male.
I also don't care for Obama's policies and ideas on foreign matters, which is why I voted for Edwards in the primary even though he had already withdrawn. He was far from what I am looking for, but of the top three, he came the closest, and both Hillary and Obama are too far away for me to support at all.

With all due respect, I am so tired of this question. It conflates several things. Yes, of course one can have serious problems with Hillary and her stand on the issues (as I do); that does mean that the sexist treatment she has endured from the media and others should be tolerated. For the love of God, is there any rationality left on the left? I merely suggested that women may be loathe to run after witnessing the smear campaign that she has endured from the media and from her own party.
Posted by at February 24, 2008 06:23 PMFair enough, no-name poster. :o}. I admit that I pay almost no attention to the American mainstream media. I never watch CNN, or MSNBC in particular, so maybe I have missed seeing all the sexism that some people insist is there. What I HAVE noticed is that some people have had a fit over "sexism" in things that have no trace or hint of sexism in them, and so it strikes me as crying wolf. That way, it is more difficult to believe the reports of sexism when they might be accurate.
Posted by Shirin at February 24, 2008 07:08 PMYawn.
Back in the non-parody world, in the swing state of Iowa, Obama beats McCain 53-36.
McCain beats Hillary 49-40.
The word, I believe, is "obvious."

Tina Fey---THANK YOU! Freakin' Awesome!!!
It is about time that someone in the media came out to show their support for Hillary. We are SICK of the male dominated media: Biased, BORING, weak, unimaginative, unoriginal, undaring, and tediously predictable. Get OFF Obama's jock.
Hillary 08!!!!!!!
the 1st vid has disappeared
Posted by joe at February 24, 2008 10:40 PMyou know what, people have always said, oh that's not sexist, oh that's not racist... you know why? Your in denial and you like the status quo. maybe you haven't been listening to the things that are being said about clinton very carefully, including by obama. sexism is so deeply entrenched in the way we think that it is easy not to hear the sexism because it seems normal. you can learn more about the double bind women face when they attempt to make it in politics or management by googling women, leadership, and double bind
