I liked the bit on the plane where she's just joking around with the press--and the Vogue comments were funny. I like seeing her be herself. It reminds me of why I like her so much.
Posted by CG at March 2, 2008 01:43 PMI am an Obama supporter. I really liked this video. Wow..she is so much fun. Why are the Carvilles of the world so determined to take the fun out of her? Plain old Ninccumpoops! She is such a charming person and so capable of being a leader.
Oh...yes I forgot to mention I am one of those FRINGE OBAMA supporters who refuses to drink the cool-aid, is deeply appreciative of eR's scholarship on demystifying Obama. I find the constant whining (oh...now you are only feeding the republican talking heads) really childish.
Posted by BAlmy at March 2, 2008 02:13 PMBack when the "Obama Girl" video surfaced, the Clinton Campaign should have immediately countered with a "Hillary Boy" video starring Richard Simmons in a codpiece speedo.
I guarantee the campaign would be in a different place right now.
Posted by TIKI AL at March 2, 2008 03:21 PMThat would have been funny TIKI, unlike Saturday Night Live, which is painful.
Posted by nerdoff at March 2, 2008 03:26 PMAnd I don't get paid $5,000,000.00
Mark Penn, may you rot in hell for digging the Hillary hole. The Grand Canyon pales by comparison.
Posted by TIKI AL at March 2, 2008 03:39 PMI'll repeat an internet cliche: If Hillary Clinton is so damn good, why couldn't she see how bad Mark Penn's advice was?
It's ALWAYS the candidate.
Posted by green heron at March 2, 2008 03:48 PMSorry this seems little out of topic. I had to vent and so hear me out. I don't know how in the heck we can have Obama supporters who are progressives. Now he wants to Name Lugar and Hagle for top posts like SoS and SoD. Why progressives do not have enough people who are well qualified than these rethugs? You all blamed president Clinton of triangulation but I cannot think of any rethug in his cabinet. I just cannot believe progressives are ready to nominate a rethug in closet as a progressive presidential candidate. Obama has always indicated that he will preside as a centrist president. Is this what we want? How in the heck you guys voted for this idiot when there were more qualified progressives like HRC and JRE. I am always trying to justify myself about voting anybody who is a Dems nominate. But I cannot in fair mind vote this rethug. Go Nader. I am behind you.
Posted by BKK at March 2, 2008 04:11 PMWhere did you hear that (about Lugar and Hagle?) I would assume if he had a republican or two in his cabinet, it would not be in such prominent positions. What's the point of having a dem president?
Posted by CG at March 2, 2008 04:35 PM"You all blamed president Clinton of triangulation but I cannot think of any rethug in his cabinet"
...Tom Dillard was a republican in then Governor Clinton's cabinet and William Cohen was a republican in President Clinton's cabinet.
Viva El Google!
Posted by TIKI AL at March 2, 2008 05:54 PMBKK (or right-wing troll), name a recent president who did not have a member of the opposition party in his Cabinet
Posted by gay veteran at March 2, 2008 06:10 PMBKK,
If you tweak an old Chinese proverb a bit, "A journey to as far to the right as you can go, begins with the first of many steps to the right."
After the mildly left-of-center Jimmy Carter, the consecutive steps have been rightward; and the co-ordinates of each subsequent administration have defined what "center" is. Some discrete, small step to the left is required to reclaim a government of the people, with some attachment to the common good. And a wider movement to the left would be a little better, insofar as it would compensate for the accumulated injustice, sordidness, and avarice we have seen over the last two election cycles.
Posted by Copeland at March 2, 2008 06:16 PMBKK,
You are correct; your comment was off topic.
In fact you are a troll who has done nothing but insult Barack Obama and those who voted for him.
You probably work for McCain.
Posted by midwestdem at March 2, 2008 06:51 PMBKK,
Of all Nader's practical accomplishments which do you like better Justice Alitio or Chief Justice Roberts?
Posted by at March 2, 2008 06:58 PMBAlmy,
I suspect most Obama supporters are just like you. you aren't on the fringe. Please don't dignify the cult myth.
I support Obama too. That doesn't mean I hate Hillary or Bill. I have a lot of respect for them both. I definitely don't worship Obama either. This meme is very insulting and not based in reality.
Posted by midwestdem at March 2, 2008 07:03 PMActually Obama (or Hillary) should start a new cabinet post known as the "apologetic republi-con". I think Lugar or Hagel would fit both perfectly.
Posted by Seven of Six at March 2, 2008 08:28 PMEriposte, that 'interesting website'? Try clicking on the ad in the left sidebar with the pic of Hillary 1992.
Posted by Kevin Hayden at March 3, 2008 12:12 AMCall me troll or right wing (I am not sure why some are calling me a right wing troll) folks. I should have said, Rethugs in important cabinet positions. My error. But the fact remains the same about Obama having rethugs in such a high profile cabinet positions. don;t we progressives have qualified people to take up these positions. Why Hagle or Lugar just because they were against the war? Actually Lugar isn't that vocal as Hagle either. and you folks do not consider this as slap in the face from Obama for progressives? Or Is he taking progressives support for granted. Looks from the opinion here it isn't really bad taking your support for granted. Tomorrow he may even elect Alito kind of people for USSC and you people are ready to support him. In that case, why not vote a rethug? You can call me all the names folks but the fact remains that Obama is a closet Rethug and this is more than enough for me to consider not voting for him. Instead of calling me names, name one thing that he has said in the campaign that is progressive?(Stop with the BS of Iraq war Judgement)
