Comments: On Which Planet?

we know Bush sucks. What is McOld's position on global warming? It's time to concentrate on him.

Thanks for all your work and this excellent summary.

It's difficult to see in the current worthless political "environment" (double talking candidates, corporate-protecting media, selfish ignorant citizens) how the climate can be saved. Bush's Do-Nothing denial, mendacity and misrepresentions over the crucial last 8 years probably ate up the planet's last remaining hope.

No prez candidate speaks about it, no "journalist" asks a question on it, no TV network attempts to explain how dire the situation is.

The irreversible destruction of the climate by American hostility and opposition to global action in the first decade of this century will be what "Truman/Lincoln" Bush is remembered for 50 years from now. If only there were a Hell for his demented soul to be damned for all eternity.

Bush and Cheney are personally responsible for doing nothing on this issue. The federal bureaucrats tried to do something, but the conservative activists running the show simply refused. End of story. End of planet as we knew it for 11,000 years.

If this is at Bush's doorstep, then what does that say about people who say Gore could do so much more while NOT being president?

Great work, Turkana. Impossible, I suppose to get you to cross-post this fabulous summary at Daily Kos?

T2 you already know what McSame As Bush's position is. He is Bush.

Actually McOld is not a global warming denier and at one time he and Lieberman had introduced the only emissions bill with teeth in the senate. But it went nowhere and he certainly has put the issue on the far back burner when running for US Deciderer.

So he personally likely believes in the crisis. But as anointed head of the denialist corporatist conservative movement, he as lost his ability to "do" anything about the problem. Until the Repub party is smashed and reformed, its "leaders" are hostages to its backward, corrupt, head-in-the-sand "interests".

A Repub prez in 2008 ends the matter, and the last possible ray of hope will be snuffed out.

Didn't the senate vote 97-0 against Kyoto?

Newsbreak...Australia is having it's coolest rainiest summer in a long time. They're getting depressed down there. Their last winter was also the coolest in some 50 years. Add to that the coldness we've experienced this winter makes one wonder...where's the warmth? The Arctic ice melted last summer has been replaced with more ice than before. The Antarctic ice melt has been replaced with more ice than before...more snow than before...where's the warmth?

I hope you are telling your children about your scientifically illiterate denialist views, peter, and that your grandchildren come up and spit in their pinhead grandpa's face 40 years from now.

Sorry Euz...top 40 in their classes, with high physics and science abilities...they know better, that this is a crock.
