we need our own Nuremberg Trials
Posted by Gay Veteran at March 11, 2008 11:53 AMHow does this relate to Hillary's impending doom?
Posted by nerdoff at March 11, 2008 12:11 PMI have no doubt there's still some 19%ers who won't believe it. 'Course they still think the earth is flat and only 6000 years old.
Posted by iamcoyote at March 11, 2008 12:17 PMnerdoff,
you represent your candidate very well. or something.
Posted by Turkana at March 11, 2008 12:19 PMfrom Andrew Sullivan (a semi-sane conservative):
"There was a time when conservatives were leery of handing the executive unchecked power [like torture] to use against individuals it could both seize and detain indefinitely. Some conservatives maintain that skepticism toward government power. The rest ... well, they're Republicans."
Posted by Gay Veteran at March 11, 2008 12:21 PMI don't know if I misheard this, but at the 3:30 EDT news on the radio, I think I heard that they reported that Admiral Fallon resigned.
I hope I misheard.
But if I did not...
That means the attack on Iran is back on the front burner.
And that means that Darth Cheney over in the Middle East isn't to ask them to reduce the price of a barrel of oil.
Pray for Peace. Pray for the Impeachment of Bush/Cheney

seems to be true:

wow!
Posted by Turkana at March 11, 2008 12:48 PMAw, crap, now we're gonna have to go through another "Oh Noes! We're gonna attack Iran!" hysteria again? Shit. Well, let's see, when's the new moon again...
Posted by iamcoyote at March 11, 2008 01:09 PM"direct operational link" there you go...the middle word is the key. I don't think I've ever refered to a "direct operational link" between the two. Doesn't mean they weren't there, that they weren't permitted there. Just means they weren't operating together towards an end.
TA...impeachment this year??????????????? Talk about political suicide. The electorate would hold Democrats responsible and seek recompence.

Mybe he's gonna personally pilot the first bomber across the Iranian frontier?
Or maybe the first cruise missile? You gotta have hope!
Posted by snark at March 11, 2008 01:20 PMPeter, you are sounding exceptionally desperate!
Posted by Shirin at March 11, 2008 01:40 PMWell, let's see, when's the new moon again...
Well, we have Palm Sunday coming up... then, O'Bama day, er, St. Patrick's Day... the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq... the 1st day of Spring... Good Friday... Easter Sunday... my birthday... finally, April 6th, the New Moon!
Yeah, SoS, but Battlestar Galactica's premiere is on Apr. 4, so everyone's gonna be too busy talking about that to worry about putting bombs on planes. Hmm, maybe we should pencil it in for May?
Posted by iamcoyote at March 11, 2008 03:06 PMOh yeah... TV is finally returning to normal after the writer's strike... while a Nation is distracted... bomb the shit out of em'!
Regrettably, Fallon's resignation can't make Iranian's feel any easier.
Posted by Seven of Six at March 11, 2008 03:20 PMNo operational links means no means or intent to coordinate any use of Saddam's (non-existent) WMDs against the US. It means no threat to us from Saddam whatever.
As WE now know, and the CIA, all intelligence agencies and Cheney and Bush knew in Dec 02, there were no WMDs, no cooperation between Saddam and Osama and no threat to America posed by Saddam whatever. And Bushco didn't think there was at the time of the invasion. No way, no how.
And McOld thinks it's quite imporant that we don't "relitigate" how we ended up in Iraq. I'll bet.
The question is, do even 25% of BushAmericans care about the lies of the past and how we got into the catastrophe we are in? We know the Congress doesn't, even though they were the boobs most lied to by Bushco.
